Dr. Laura is gone again ...

I agree with the earlier post that Laura does indeed try to make people be accountable for their own actions. Yes, someone NEEDS to do that to folks sometimes. My real problem with her began when she really started forcing her personal agenda down the listeners' throats and lost all objectivity.

But don't put her on some pedestal for her "degree." Her doctorate is in physiology, NOT psychology or anything that really qualifies her to be a therapist. And the rest of her background is pretty sordid as well...check out http://www.nndb.com/people/427/000022361/ for more info.

I don't completely dislike the lady; I listened to her for five years back in my courier days when I used to spend 10 hrs a day on the road...so I heard the digression from her 'helpful' phase to her 'personal agenda' phase. But it's really a case of one who's running her white glove through everyone's else's house when her own would not pass inspection.

(Me, I still miss Jody Dean's afternoon talk show on KRLD, which got axed for Dr. Laura in 1994.)

Yes! Dr. Laura is a joke. I love the HOLIER THEN THO attitude she has. Matter of fact, I was flippin across the dial the other day and there she was. She was telling some woman that it didn't matter how her boyfriend felt about some rediculous subject... because they were NOT married. However, they did live together and have lived together for some time now and had been in a relationship for longer then that. Yet, none of that history mattered along with his opinion on WHATEVER IT WAS... cuz they were living in SIN! Ha! Ha! Who in the hell does this woman think she is? Ha! Ha! This is the SAME woman who had an affair with a STILL MARRIED MAN! They also LIVED IN SIN for some time before getting married! Ha! Ha! You've got to love it! Wouldn't this be the same thing as getting advice on how to deal with RACIAL TENSIONS from HITLER?

Yet, these morons continue to call in every day, year after year, to get this nut jobs advice. Seriously. If your life has gotten to a point that you need to call someone like HER... you might want to think about looking into getting a lobotomy. I love it how she says that women are screwing up their families when they are away from home and are working. Yes, because now a days so many people can afford to live on just one salary. However, if your at home and not screwing up your kids life...then you can listen to Dr. Laura. I imagine EVERYONE wishes they were in a position to hand out insanely easy and logical advice to morons who call in and get paid a ton of money to do it and only work a few hours a week. Then we could sit back and also comment on how everyone else is doing it wrong and this is how you do it the right way. When ever I hear this woman on the radio... I am reminded of the SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS movie. There is this scene where all these people, who were customers of THE CHUM BUCKET, are turned into zombies, when they place these FREE CHUM BUCKETS on their heads that were given out by PLANKTON *I got kids!. Thats exactly what her daily listeners are... FREE CHUM BUCKET WEARING ZOMBIES!

I don't care for her it's-my-way-or-the-highway attitude. I recall her getting a call from a woman who had married into an Iranian family. Her new father-in-law was upset because he hadn't been consulted on his new granddaughter's name as is apparently their long-held tradition. Her answer was, ''Tell him this is America!'' She nevered said how to tell him tactfully. I wonder how the woman and her father-in-law are doing after she followed Dr Laura's advice.
 
Here's some insight on Ms. Ingram: She was at a station I worked at one time to broadcast her show. She had to have certain things (she had a list) just exactly her way, etc. When she arrived she saw our 8 year old analog boards and said "Oh! We're going to do old-timey radio today aren't we?!" Keeping in mind at the time our stuff was in great shape I really didn't enjoy her little dig. Maybe in NYC they replace equipment every other year. All the rest of us in 'fly over country' have to actually make stuff pay for itself. The other thing that stuck in my mind about her is that she's actually a bit on the short side and looks a little older than her pics. Needless to say they know how to make her look different that reality to some extent.
