Dusty on WMOH?

If no one has the answer about what happened to Dusty and WDJO - I respect that.

The key to me is rooting for WDJO' and WQRT to make it. They have to battle every day for a share of the revenue and some audience.

They always own it to their audience and advertisers to present the best programing they can.
If I was in charge of any of the stations would I make a change. Of course.

1, WDJO have one of the shifts be really 'Live" with a personality who would become the face of the station in doing remotes and being out in the community. I believe that since the signal is weak in morning drive I would go for afternoon drive to be "live." It is a real shame that Dusty is not being heard on WDJO.

2. WQRT - As I mentioned before I would consider airing the TRN news blocks during the week.
(With this format I would still keep the afternoon drive but have a Top of the hour 10 minute newscast with stocks, traffic, weather and sports headlines. On the week ends there are several special programs that can generate revenue and audience.

I have a couple of other formats in mind for WQRT but I am more interested in what other people have to say before I mentioned them and why.

Really Jon? a .1 for the first showing ever in PPM--- I LOVE tiny AM stations but to trumpet WMOH with a 10k cume on one PPM panel is kinda silly---

That said, I'm pretty dang pleased that the mighty WedaJO now consistently beats the retirement home station ;D! To infinity and BEYOND!

Happy New Year everyone--- it's fun to talk radio with you all! I hope and pray for a great 2012 for you and for all of radio!

PS (self serving note of the day) today is the anniversary of my first "real" shift in Cincy radio--- the original WDJO at 1230AM----12/31/85--- Playing oldies live the night Ricky Nelson died--- The listeners were great calling in with stories--actually a lot of the same listeners I hear from every day at noon during the request show.. I do miss the live banter-- the "CRUD there is no delay... please don't swear" feeling and the shared sense of loss and sense of community that was there even on tiny (original) WDJO that night--- however I do NOT miss driving home at 1am with some jerk going the wrong way on I-71 almost killing me---

Prost!

They can, but they probably won't. The phony "politeness" and policy of "if you can't say anything nice..." that I constantly see in southern Ohio makes me want to upchuck. ::)
I don't think it's any of our business what happened to Rhodes and the station. Since no one's talking, it's a non-issue.

I don't really care if Dusty is on DJO or not, ( but I would much rather he be on), but i think it is great that this little AM with the poor signal can stay on the air with folks who love the format and jocks that love what they are doing. I know that Brian is stretching that format a little, ( like with a 1984 song like Uptown Girl), but it is still the best deal in town for folks that like those oldies but goodies. I just hope those investors are making a little return on their dollars so the station, and format, can keep going for a while. And it is great to read all the interactions from the many folks who know and work in radio. Keep it coming folks. Us old guys love to read this stuff and we like to have at least one station who plays the music we love.

It is great to hear Dusty on the air -- I miss the KING!

Marty, given all of the quirks with PPM, i thought it was worth a mention.
Better than zip and nada.

I did talk radio for the first time last week on WMOH. I filled in on the morning show that Pioneer is so fond of. ;-) Only ten thousand people were likely to have heard me? GOOD! :D

Some people know, but, are not talking, and that is the way it will stay.

I am not Puff, however, I do not repeat what people tell me, it is just that simple.
