DX Opportunity - 1040 WJTB (Cleveland, OH area)

DX Alert - 1040 WJTB is a daytimer but they are still on the air as I type this. They have a black gospel format so if you're hearing that on 1040 it's probably this. Anyone able to DX this station at the moment?

WJTB just now signed off (8pm ET) - about 90 minutes after sunset. Now it's all WHO. Also wanted to add that WJTB has a persistent hum in the background, so if you hear this on 1040 you're probably hearing them.

I've wonder why 1040/WJTB N. Ridgeville and 1060/WILB Canton are allowed to operate just 20 KHZ apart.

Because WJTB was able to demonstrate that its 5 mV/m contour wouldn't overlap with Canton's 5 mV/m contour, back when WJTB signed on. (And later on, WILB was able to demonstrate that even with a power increase to 15 kW days, its 5 mV/m contour still wouldn't overlap WJTB's.)

WUFL 1030 and WJTB 1040 applications also use measured conductivity toward the other station. WUFL recently changed patterns from a two tower with a maximum to the NW to a three tower with a maximum to the SW. WUFL also used conductivity measurements toward WTKA 1050.

I wish the proofs were online for all stations. I'm sure that many engineering consultants wouldn't want that though. They play their cards very close to the chest, only using the azimuths they really need. I've asked them specific questions about conductivity in certain areas and they only answered in vague generalities. I've probably revealed too many of my observations, and some stations have upgraded on my hunches and a few measurements I made out of curiosity. This may have closed other opportunities that I may have wanted to pursue.

From what I've heard, WJTB is a technically challenged facility, to say the least. I've read posts on local radio forums that say that WJTB doesn't even have the coverage, locally, that they should have due to shoddy engineering or, more likely, neglect.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. ;D
