So, okay. As a voice over talent I'm kinda biased, but I've always thought you need to have some good commercials at the station to keep people from changing the channel. In another thread someone else and I were chatting about a commercial that both of us remember, albiet not fondly, from 10 years ago. I record about 3 commercials a day, either for TV or radio, and it's about 90% drivel. But sometimes, every rare once in awhile, something new and fun comes down the pike and the E.A.R. Awards are giving credit where credit is due. Head over to the site and take a listen and ask yourself when was the last time you even cracked a smile at a local radio commercial. Definitely check out all of the finalists. My personal favorite is "Friendship" for Finnegan's Ale for Best Use of Copywriting. This is great stuff!
