Easy Rock 105.1 Is Here

I dunno but I find myself listening to this station while in the truck and I live about 45 road miles South of Louisville close to Elizabethtown. I like most of the stuff their playing.

Tomorrow we'll hear if CBS Sportsradio is on 105.1, otherwise, EasyRock makes a nice sales addition for
DJX and Max sales people. Good for a cluster addition. I'm surprised they play Suddenly from Cliff Richard
and Olivia Newton John. A Little in Love might test better from Cliff Richard. It did in another market.
Suddenly was played on The Dove in Tampa, earlier in 2012. It hasn't been lately.

CBS Sports Radio debuts in 6 hours from now at midnight so we will find out soon.

are we sure its debuting at midnight. i rarely have seen a broadcast radio network debut on the nose at midnight especially with the fact that would be in the middle of the 10p-2a show for cbs. is usually smarter to debut at 6am in the case of CBS

CBS Sports soft launched via the website at 10:00 last night and rolled out to radio stations at midnight. Where I live, the local rock station ended with Alice in Chains "Rooster" and went sports after about 15 minutes of silence at exactly midnight.

LOUISVILLE, KY – On Monday, December 24, Main Line Broadcasting launched Louisville’s only Soft Adult Contemporary at 105.1 FM as The New Easy Rock 105.1. This format change was the result of market research that clearly shows that women over the age of 40 want to hear a broader range of music from the decades when they were growing up into their adult lives.

There is no other radio station like The New Easy Rock 105.1 in Louisville. The city has several stations that super-serve the 25-40 year-old female audience, but none that cater to the female listener over the age of 40 until now. The women of Louisville are going to love hearing the great hits from core artists like, Elton John, Barry Manilow, Eagles, Celine Dion, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan and many others. You’ll hear Easy Rock hits from the 60s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.

Program Director Tom Gudding on The New Easy Rock 105.1: “We’re playing the favorite songs of a whole group of women who are underserved by the current choices in Louisville. Plus, we are locally programmed and excited to be part of the Louisville community.”

George Lindsey, the Operations Manager of the Main Line Louisville Radio Cluster believes this is long over due: “There are so many stations that target teens and men in town, Easy Rock 105.1 is unique, as it offers grown ups, especially women, a mix of music that no other station in Louisville offers…James Taylor, Chicago, Whitney Houston Hall & Oates, but also Michael Buble’ & Mariah Carey. There is no other station playing this music…no one!”

IIRC George Lindsey did something like this about twenty-five years ago with 101.7. The station went beautiful music serving this undeserved demo that, in reality, agencies don't really desire. Of course 101.7 had a small signal but it covered some nice zip codes, 105.1 does not. I give it maybe a year before the format wheel spins again.

That means christmas 105.1 will be back before ya know it lol

Seems strange 105.1 not that long ago use to play system of a down and metallica is now playing air supply and barry manillow lol
