I've always been disappointed that when there was a strike and Lou, a manager, had to fill in as a worker, he didn't mention the disaster of trying to fill in for Ted Baxter. He got drunk and passed out and someone else, maybe the director, had to take over. Mary found him passed out and I don't know why she didn't take over reading the news.Asner was terrific. Great actor and philanthropist. The Lou Grant character was so iconic, he transitioned from a Comedy to a Drama (Mary Tyler Moore Show and Lou Grant).
