EMF Buys WKLU - Staff receives notice

EMF reportedly purchases WKLU Brownsburg.

Given the fact that EMF has rwo studios in California and none in Indiana, how will this affect their "Main Studio?" and service to Indiana?

The only Class A in Indianapolis you can hear at Batesville, IN. And co-channel to Class B WKRQ.

Going to throw up now. Back in a bit.

Wasn't that revealed here a month ago?

It was rumored here a month or so ago, but it is always nice to have factual confirmation. That is what we've got, right? The folks at the station give a firm "no comment" to random anonymous callers, but since "no comment" is slightly different then "nope, you must be crazy, we're not sold" I'm guessing it's all over but the unemployment filings. That's a shame; in any situation, you hate to see a bunch of radio folks get walking papers. Good luck to the fine people over there.

I hear he is broke and understand this was a fire sale. Where is Radioho?

I always enjoy posts that start "I hear..."

Contrary to some public opinion, most business owners don't end up "broke" when a sale is made, even if they sell at a loss. I have no information on this particular transaction, but I find it hard to believe that Mr. Oasis is anywhere near "broke."

What I do know is that a decent sounding radio station employing some very good people is going away as are their jobs and I hope that we all don't lose sight of that fact as we dissect this news.

Main Studio Waiver and no local staff is the answer to that question.

Bruce Quinn started WKLU. Had he not done this, it likely would have already
been a K-Love translator.

I hope someone else picks up oldies. Good luck to the employees! Hope they get
new jobs soon!

"Staff has recieved notice"-okay, i'll buy into this :D! NOW WE GOT SOMETHING more than we had a few weeks ago.
lets speculate on just WHO will pick-up this format with a REAL chance of success in Indy. go ahead and gloat HO, i don't care. i'm a newsman, just needed facts.

Based on Dayton, chances are both stations will carry K-Love, as Greencastle more than likely doesn't have full metro coverage.

To Libby, Pidge, Albro, Roddy, Chris Love, Tom Burg and Jeff Lewis.... Just NICE peeps that are all hard workers. Best of luck to you all.

93.9 will pick up oldies. No, they chose chr. Maybe 95.9 will. No, they already tried it. How about WXLW...
oldies 9-5-0.
