LOL The Internet Radio Uniform CallSign registration is such a scam and means nothing. I could start a station online call it KXXF and there likely wouldnt be much anyone could do. Its a money grab by the guy who runs it.. and so pointless

It's pretty much a done deal now.. eventual plans are a new Nautel with HD will be installed at 105.3. I won't comment on what the HD will be used for until I get clearance from the EMF engineer..

Surprised they would be adding HD. In some markets where EMF has only one signal, an HD-2 is used for Air1. I think there is an affiliated Spanish language service carried on some of the EMF HD channels. Maybe such a service will feed some translators?

No HD on Air1 KHJK 103.7.

As transmitters come due for replacement for EMF owned signals, if they arent HD currently, they are seriously considered for that upgrade for future use.

My old home market KLove station, KLWV isnt in HD now but probably will be in the near future when the transmitter gets replaced

I figured 105.3 would go HD to feed the pretty much useless K-Love 89.1 translators since they have 105.3 now.

Actually rebroadcasting the 94.7 Groves translator which rebroadcasts KRLR... eventually will have a direct sat feed
I can confirm this. KXXF sounds terrible right now and I can hear KVLL from the Lufkin area weak and in the background. I wonder if they can implement some kind of automatic switchover to 89.1 when tropos is strong. I imagine tropos will bring in KRLR really strong to the transmitter.

A satellite dish is being installed to take care of the problem with the tropo

Also indicates why it’s taking a couple of months for EMF to place K-Love on KTHT, as they want the permanent downlink infrastructure in place before launching in a big market.

As KTHT is already in HD, I’m curious if EMF will have Air1 and/or Radio Nueva Vida on additional subchannels. Although there is plenty of overlap of the 97.1 and 103.7 signals, it would extend Air1 coverage to the north and possibly provide a better originating signal for the Air1 translator in Conroe, which reportedly has issues with tropo affecting current parent KHJK.

I could see them adding K-LOVE 2000's and Radio Nueva Vida. I do want to see them adding HD to KXXF and putting a subchannel on some of KRLR's translators.
As for the Conroe translator at least it's just KXAI it usually picks up. It does sound weird because they're so slightly out of sync. For KTHT HD it could work most of the time but sometimes the HD gets completely wiped out by KXBJ and KAJA/KMDL. I guess it could revert to analog for that time so it's not silent. Or they could just get KHJK and KXAI perfectly in sync so the listener wouldn't hear an echo.

Well this is Houston. Translators are allowed to originate programming and feed non fill ins with a “Barix HD radio” 😂

Sir, your conclusory post seems to be missing the requisite pictures or documentary evidence to support your statements.
Please don't cause frankberry and/or DavidEduardo to have to lock down yet another Houston thread. You'd think the 1/2 dozen they've already been forced to close would serve as adequate warning.
