Emily Rooney's "Beat The Press" Takes on WRKO

The Count makes fun of Ms. Shack's weight. Lucy Lu makes fun of Jason's height. Casablanca does the same.
Grow up the three of you. I'm in agreement that WRKO sounds terrible, but the personal attacks blunt your argument.

I was not ‘making fun’, I was pointing out, with brutal honesty, what has become a daily ritual for a medium talent programmer with a Napoleonic Complex: after scanning the Herald and Globe for his name, he genuflects in front of Glenn Ordway (as tribute for leaving him a sports/talk line-up that he couldn’t mess up as hard as he tried) and then asks Julie to put a phonebook on the chair so he can read message boards (actually, ever since Boston’s deflating population dropped her out of the Top Ten, he’s had to use two phonebooks, but you get the idea), no ‘fun’ there. Lighten up Lou Grant, I always liked you better before you got your own show.

jason's height insecurity interferes with good management judgement, that's why its a fair point

The only thing you were pointing out with brutal honesty is that, when you don't have a relevant argument to make, all you have left are personal attacks with absolutely no basis in fact Such attacks by you and others say a whole lot more about those who make them than they do about their intended targets.

...and I suppose you're a board-certified psychiatrist, who can back that up with clinical data?

Oh, sorry, I forgot. You never examined the patient. Yet another personal attack with no basis in fact.

radio has made these psychiatric terms blend and merge. When a short little program director has a
Napoleonic Complex it can be considered and Oedipus Complex; so as not to confuse it with the
dictionary definition of an Oedipus Complex we'll have to call it the Oedipus/Wolfe Complex...but that
gets sticky too because Oedi has or had a wolf dog named Alexis after Joan Collins, his idol.

Hmmm....The N.O.J.W-C Complex The Napoleonic-Oedipal-Jason Wolfe/Joan Collins Complex sheesh...

Heard that Jason & Oedi were going to be starring in the remake of Land of the Giants. First episode has
them on the Boston Celtics floor trying to mic up the ballgame while ten men warm up by dribbling off their heads...

Varulven - no relation to Jason Wolfeman...

p.s. I have nothing against Jason except that his station is tired and boring. Just having fun in parody form.
