Emmis/L.A. let go of six employees today, including air talent from both KPWR and KMVN.

Definitely looks like they are trying to re-group & salvage some failing stations.
raydioaydio said:Or do what they did in NY and bring an Adult Rock station back to LA! Star, excuse me, 98.7, is trying to hard to be a KROQ/Pirate clone. There's no decent rock station for adults to listen to here.
DavidEduardo said:AAA has been tried and failed quite dismally due, mostly, to the demographic makeup and ethnicity of LA. To find a rock position in the market a station would have to index fairly against Hispanics and, probably, Aisians as well as non-Hispanic whites to get numbers big enough to be considered a success.

So you're saying any resurrection of FM 101.9 or Channel 103.1 would not even match the dismal numbers of KMVN?

That's probably why AAA doesnt target Hispanics.

Promoted properly, AAA would likely get between a 1 and 2 share....BUT......
Those shares would be primarily 25-54 white men and women-the MONEY people! The ones who buy Volvos and Mercades Benz cars and boats and HDTVs and new stereos and, and and.....
AAA does not pull huge numbers, but the QUALITY of their audience can not be beat!
