The P-I article said that Bonneville will have LMA authority to operate the three stations happening sometime in January, February or March 2007. Then they'll close escrow later in the year. I think time is of the essence here, and this must be what's motivating them. The Spring Book diary period starts April 5th, so there is no time to waste.
As for KRKO's night time signal, yeah I've pulled that beast's switch a few times. Looking at their nightime pattern for the new app at 50K, it appears as though it's nulled out in a southeasterly direction. Check it out:
Maybe one of our engineers on this board can shed some light on this. The app is actually for 34,000 watts daytime without any null, according to the FCC database.
The big honchos from Bonneville met with the staff of KIRO, KTTH and KBSG last week. They have promised to make KIRO number one in the market again by "spending the dollars for news and promotion that Entercom couldn't." Word out of the building is they will try and make KIRO number one with renewed advertising and expanding the news product.
Johnson retired. Stouffer is still around, and for good reason. She's a downer to work with, very negative attitude. Listeners might miss her at 710, but co-workers don't.
