Not exactly. Each station is sold alone, and the cluster is sold all together or in packets of stations. But E/A sells their stations as a group, in that, "we can give you X demo, Y demo, Z demo" and your spots will reach, this, this, and this.
They are mostly voice tracked, as the dayparts beyond AMD are not personality driven so all they need is a bit of human warmth. That can be done by one person on several stations as they don't have to wait around for songs or sweeps to end to talk. Since those announcers can pull up tips and tails so they get the flow right, it can be quite as good as being live... sometimes even better. And, if there's a "listen while you work" outlet in the cluster at the top of the ratings, it floats the lower-rated station (or the sports AM, if any). And, you'll notice E/A purged a lot of their talent on the alt-stations; so they;re jockless most times or VT (local or elsewhere) with little to no local talent on them.
Packets. Yes. That's the word I was looking for. I'm not much of advertising, marketing guy. Packets. Not exactly. Each station is sold alone, and the cluster is sold all together or in packets of stations.
Agencies generally buy by the station, based on the very specific targets of each account. When statins are sold together, often it is to bring the CPP down to the agency goal, even if it means discounting because the station is not efficient in that particular demo.

I'm not seeing the 12 adds to krbz. I wonder why kaplan isn't more ambitious with more picks for alt-pop. Even within the genre there's a lot to choose from.
Yep. And the advantage subscribers have is that we can look at dayparts and exclude periods like overnights so that we get an accurate view of the "good" hours. And, of course, we can exclude evenings if we don't want to be mislead by mix shows on certain formats.Where are you looking? Mediabase and BDS actually monitor airplay. The record labels trust them as accurate.
I checked allaccess, which uses the mediabase charts. What are the adds?Where are you looking? Mediabase and BDS actually monitor airplay. The record labels trust them as accurate.

All Access does not have full rights to the Mediabase charts.I checked allaccess, which uses the mediabase charts. What are the adds?
I've heard maybe iann dior and cage the elephant, they play older jxdn. The others might be coming? Here's what I see new as of today:
Iann Dior, Brockhampton, Cage The Elephant, Dayglow, Erika De Casier, Half Alive, Japanese House, Jungle, JXDN, Alice Merton, Paper Idol, Washed Out.
No, they already are getting airplay. BDS and MediaBase report based on detected airplay. Stations do not "report" to either; both systems have electronic off-air monitoring in each market and the detection is automatic.I've heard maybe iann dior and cage the elephant, they play older jxdn. They have a syndicated new arrivals show on sunday, perhaps there? Or maybe they're coming from the national wnyl feed? During the day, they're not on the playlist. No, they already are getting airplay. BDS and MediaBase report based on detected airplay. Are you subscribed to BDS or MediaBase? Of course, if you were you would not ask those questions. They have a syndicated new arrivals show on sunday, perhaps there? Or maybe they're coming from the national wnyl feed? During the day, they're not on the playlist.
I'm not subscribed to those, but you can look through their playlist and see if you find any of those 12 songs krbz.tunegenie.com/onair. Wait until 5 am ct though, because it's currently a national show in progress. Are you subscribed to BDS or MediaBase? Of course, if you were you would not ask those questions.
(Like Nielsen, the monitoring services do not give the important facts away for free. To see behind the curtain, you have to subscribe)
BDS and Mediabase don't include the "national" stream in the service. They monitor, off the air, locally, in the market. Nothing else.
For the top 50 songs, almost none (except for iann dior) of those 12 are on there and it even includes songs with 1 spin. Is that all they got?No, they already are getting airplay. Again: subscribers to BDS or MediaBase pay thousands a year to get full access. The material on AllAccess.Com is a very incomplete, partial listing. For the top 50 songs, almost none (except for iann dior) of those 12 are on there and it even includes songs with 1 spin. Is that all they got?
Those "national shows" are actually voiced nationally, but usually the music is inserted locally.I'm not subscribed to those, but you can look through their playlist and see if you find any of those 12 songs krbz.tunegenie.com/onair. Hmmm... not sure where they buried those songs on the playlist then... saying this as an alice merton fan, who was listed. Those "national shows" are actually voiced nationally, but usually the music is inserted locally.
Nearly all so-called national shows... such as Ryan Seacrest* and many others... provide the personality content in bits and pieces and it is integrated with a local playlist, local commercials and, depending on the daypart, local headlines, traffic, weather, etc.
What we are trying to tell you is that the "free" online playlists are not complete.Hmmm... not sure where they buried those songs on the playlist then...
I know, but where would I find those songs on their playlist? I live in their town and haven't heard any of them. Gaslighting at it's finest. What we are trying to tell you is that the "free" online playlists are not complete.
