Epic Fail: Pappas To Shut Down KMPH/840

Once again, I've heard from a very reliable source that Jim Pappas has considered bringing KMPH/840 back on the air with syndicated, brokered and satellite-fed programming.

My question is ... since that was all you were running before, 95% of the time, how is this going to be better or different, or be any more successful? Is it just to keep the license active? If so, put on some Western music, have Cal Purviance do the announcing, and make it worth listening to -- instead of that unlistenable garbage you carried before.
My question is... How can Pappas still have control of KMPH when he lost control of both KTRB-860 Modesto & his TV Stations? Especially since he went bankrupt?

What I understand, the Bankruptcy only effected 13 of his TV stations, including the ones in Fresno and Reno. the radio Stations weren't involved at that time, but now looks like Pappas could lose ownership of both KTRB and KMPH.

I haven't heard anything concerning KMPH, only KTRB. Now I hear that Pappas may bring KMPH back on the air. That has me puzzled.

To add a coda to this thread, KMPH/840 morning man Rob Johnson landed on his feet -- he's now the morning host at Atlanta's WGST/640, waking 'em up and leading off for Limbaugh:

Not a bad gig for a guy who, I believe, would have been happy getting a gig at KFIV in Modesto after KMPH drew its last breath.
