Eric and Jimmy Podcast 3

Good point. If these were rookies, I could see someone judging the podcast based on a surface listen, but I'd think a seasoned programmer could see the potential, knowing these guys are pros with good track records of working in teams. As far as Dave goes, I have to imaginge they're talking with J&E. Aren't they auditioning people now? Why would they take a complete pass on something being handed to them with such big history in the market? Half the battle for a new show is getting established in a city, and that, in and of itself takes forever.
 
I am a long time reader of this board, and am now compelled to post for the first time on this board.

I have been an avid radio listener of morning radio in Atlanta since the mid-90s - listening mainly to 99x. After Fred Toucher left, I had no place to go. As a female in her mid-30s, the logical choice was Q100. But more often found myself listening the TRG. After their firing, I was FORCED to listen to Q100. At times entertaining, mostly nauseating.

Since finding the podcasts of EVH and Jimmy, I find myself longing for their familiar voices in the morning. With both of them together, it is double the pleasure!

I think these podcasts are more entertaining than ANYTHING in the mornings now and am actually listening to #3 for the 2nd time. In #3, they needed more Tim Andrews.

Hopefully, the "brain trust" that programs my morning radio dial will listen and get these guys a regular gig on any of the at least 2 stations (Dave and Star) that are looking for a morning program - or 99x (which desperately needs a new morning show (can Leslie!!)

Because most programmers don't have the sense to get out of their own way? Dave could top two books in a row based on name recognition alone, but that makes too much sense.

You may be a bit too entrenched in your PD thinking, not necessarily out of your mind. If you're Eric and Jimmy, it seems to me you make it public early for at least two reasons: 1) to perhaps gain a groundswell of support from your fans, 2) to get a much wider base of feedback.
