ESPN Radio New York essentially remains the same - particularly mornings since virtually all ESPN affiliate stations are obligated to take that show (Mike and Mike) if they want the rest of the programming.
ESPN New York is currently taking 10 hours per weekday of national programming (usually more on weekend days when not airing Jets games and the ensuant wrap-around local programming). This is about the minimum amount of national hours an ESPN affiliate can take - maybe the absolute minimum of all (?).
I'm sure an exception is made for New York due to the importance of trying to sell local advertising in the market while competing with WFAN. All this while they do clear national advertising, which may be seen as the main priority, moreso if this was Radio Disney we were talking about.
Generally speaking, WFAN took in just over $40 million in revenue in 2011 while WEPN took in around $7 million.

1-3pm Steven A. Smith with Ryan Ruocco (local)
3-6pm Michael Kay with Don LaGreca (local)
6-9pm Dave Rothenberg (local)
9pm-Midnight Bill Daughtry (local)
Weekends/Saturdays:
10am-Noon Patrick McEnroe with Robin Lundberg
(could also fill in during the week)
The format change occurs on 98.7 FM at Midnight Sunday night 4/29/12-Monday morning 4/30/12.
At that moment, Steven A. Smith will be the first host on the new frequency (which will be simulcast on 1050 AM); he'll do a local show (maybe until 4am when Jared Max comes in).
WEPN has gone almost all-local on a couple of occasions, usually after weekend NY Jet playoff games/important NY Jet regular season games.
