Here's an interesting post from a radio head - - http://www.urbanradionation.com/2012/04/art-of-deal-in-new-york-city-radio-987.html
Newark's 94.7 is still up for grabs. Michaels reportedly tried to say that he doesn’t think WFME has come on the market despite reports of the Christian station being sold. They can buy it because 94.7 wouldn’t put CBS over the limit an owner can own in one market. That is 5 FMs/3 AMs.JayDee3 said:Here's an interesting post from a radio head - - http://www.urbanradionation.com/2012/04/art-of-deal-in-new-york-city-radio-987.html

The Philadelphia radio metro is 5.3 million, not 2 million.

The format change occurs on 98.7 FM at Midnight Sunday night 4/29/12-Monday morning 4/30/12.
At that moment, Steven A. Smith will be the first host on the new frequency (which will be simulcast on 1050 AM); he'll do a local show (maybe until 4am when Jared Max comes in).
WEPN has gone almost all-local on a couple of occasions, usually after weekend NY Jet playoff games/important NY Jet regular season games.

Yes, it is maxed out. TV counts against the market total. 6 radio and 2 tv for a total of 8.
disney fanatic said:In preparing on recording airchecks from the last weekend of WRKS' "Kiss-FM" at 98.7, I started recording it this morning at 6 AM Saturday morning with Felix Hernandez continues all the way through until now. It's Saturday night, and I'm still recording it. I finished recording Mike Shannon and Bugsy, so I'm recording the last Cocoa Chanelle's "Ladies Night" show tonight playing nothing but rap music which I don't really care about this garbage.
Tomorrow, I'm going to record the last "Open Line" show, the last Sunday's Felix Hernandez "Rhythm Review" show, the last "Champagne & Bubbles" show with Andre Harrell, the final "Soul Beginnings" show with Bob Slade and the last "Week in Review" to end the station with a bang, but I'll have to skip the Al Sharpton's "Hour of Power" show at 9 PM tomorrow, because I'm not recording it. After these are done, I will be posting the airchecks of the final shows heard on "Kiss-FM" at 98.7.
Stay tuned for more about this final weekend of "Kiss-FM".
I remember last year when WQQQ in Sharon, CT was sold to WSHU public radio and I recorded the last days of "Q103" back in late February 2011, but I have all of these aircheck that I recorded it so far. And now, I'm still in the recording the final shows on "Kiss-FM".
Update: HumDesi wasn't off the air for long at all. As of midnight, they have moved to WQHT HD2, displacing the WRXP format that had been on there for the past few months.Barry said:I just checked the HD side of 98.7.
HD2, which normally carries the Asian programming of HumDesi Radio, is broadcasting just an open carrier. And HumDesi's online link for New York is also silent. Links for HumDesi in other cities are functioning.
In addition, there is now an HD3, which the frequency previously did not have. It is also currently an open carrier.

No need to. Its my opinion about this bad situation and if you dont like it, you need to lose your focus on it simply. Thank you!
