Evolution 93.5 to launch 3/13/2013

i think i heard something about a section/ launch party at ultra they were going to be live at another location too

I guess that is why I am hearing Christian Music on this station, not Dance, but I was also in South Beach at the time which should be in their "space."

No, both stations and possibly others are iHeart stations with local inserts.
W228BY is a translator of WHYI HD2.

i wouldnt be surprised if this station moves to 93.9 and covers all of s.fl... its just a matter of time the stations pretty popular i hear

A 0.1 and a tie for 49th in the market is "pretty popular"?

WIOD @ 100.3 could.
The certainly promote it enough.

David,

Are there translators that actually show up in Mia/Ftl? I'd say, the fact it did is somewhat of an accomplishment, right?

The translator does not show up per se... what shows is the WHYI HD2 simulcast with the translator, which is how Arbitron deals with these.

An HD-2 and translator combination are now #1 in the Jacksonville market in 18-34. There are quite a few others that show with significant ratings. Evolution is not one of them.

Do you think something like that could ever happen...
The projected age of the multiverse is no closer to ever than one jiffy; the time it takes light to traverse the circumference of an elementary particle in a vacuum.

Can a translator with a cardioid pattern and a couple miles of water in one of their strong directions really expect more?
Good for Ultra...1½ weeks/year.

Did they expect anything better? The signal is limited to a relatively small area of Dade County. In other words, the signal reaches only a small percentage of the market.

Not even. I did not see one person walking around Miami with headphones on that weekend.
Why would you be listening to a radio when there is "live" music right there? To find out what's going on? That's what social media is for. Most people had smartphones in their hand.
Not a viable business model.

i think he meant for when they were not in ultra, while they may be visiting the beach, city or in their cars etc...
