About 1/2 way down the L.A. Times page. He's going to do 11 AM-1 PM. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-quick30-2009may30,0,1579909.story
Ziegler is odd, too. He was known to have a fit (in Burbank) if anyone was watching him through the studio window. I'm sure we could come up with many personalities that have received from managment what one might call outrageous demands.nmoore6676 said:As a fan of Ziegler I'm happy, but the fact that KGIL is shaving an hour off of Glenn Beck is not a good thing. I, myself, would have dumped Monica Crowley and gone with three hours of JZ. As a buffer between Glenn Beck and Michael Savage it seems, to me, that it would have been a good fit. A lot of times Glenn alludes to something coming in the third hour which now I won't hear.
While some may say that John was not smart to p***off Kobylt, and that seems to have been true by the outcome, John Kobylt is a bit overbearing at times. I think that letting anyone tell management who may or may not broadcast from your studio is a mistake, who is in charge? I'm sure that John and Ken are very well paid and certainly enough to be able to stand someone else in the same building. They don't like Handel very much either but they co-exist with him.

And when that time comes it'll be zero skin off Saul's nose. He'll just pick up the 2 hours of syndicated programming that Ziegler replaced and in another couple of months the Levine's will change the line-up again. You get the idea. You see, with KGIL there have been so many changes since Mt. Wilson Broadcasting became the owners that the audience doesn't even bother with them anymore...

Just curious...what empirical data do you have that suggests KGIL will do anything differently than they've done in the past? I'm reminded of the definition of business insanity...doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. And by the way...it wasn't so long ago that KGIL's lineup was all syndicated, so let's not be bestowing any localism awards quite yet.

I wouldn't give out any localism awards either, they promised, or hinted, at such when they began with Michael Jackson. They also featured local commentary with Ziegler and more weekend shows locally produced. It is going to be wait and see, but I like what they are doing, minus the frequent "retuning" and shuffling but mostly I like it. Sometimes I wish it were on a better signal but 1260 was originally assigned as a local channel for the San Fernando Valley and the COL was in fact San Fernando. Even with the power upgrade it really can't do much more than that with most of the daytime 20KW serving whale colonies and schools of fish.
