Exactly how long is 9,600 songs.....

I have noticed that the music tends to run at normal speed during Duran and Seacrest's shows and goes back up to the CC branded faster speed at night after the shows are over. Do they do this so that Duran and Seacrest don't sound like they are on helium or why exactly is this? I prefer they play the songs at normal speed. I know it is more upbeat sounding but it sounds weird to me.

Sunday night, listening to POWER. Seems to be a live jock on. Sounds a little novice. Also, noticed him saying, "here's what I got coming up....." And finally, he's announcing that, after the 9,600 songs, Power will have 96 songs commercial-free at 9a, 12p, and 5p. Surprised he's not giving any kind of on-air name. But, def sounds live for a change.

So they are going to play their entire playlist, commercial free, 3 times a day. :)

So, they will not be finished with the 96 songs at noon when they are supposed to start over. Something is wrong with the 9a, 12p, and 5p. There is not enough time.... and that means they are giving away afternoon drive.

I was at work and iheartradio was streaming in the background. Oops, sorry.... It must've been 96 mins of commercial free music. My point was they seemed to finally, have had a live jock on the air. He did mention 3 different times during the day for commercial free music, tho.

What made you think he was live? I'm not saying he wasn't; he could have been. But I'm thinking not saying his name might suggest he's voice tracked from outside the market until they hire some local-based people.

It very well could've been voice tracked. Just had a hunch that it was live because of the sound quality difference. I've heard many voice-tracked DJ's but, this guy was on after nearly every song (WAY more often than normal), then mentioned what all was "coming up in the next half-hour...." And then, say things say like "Brianna in Acworth wants to hear ---"

But sure, it could have still been voice-tracked. But, DEF NOT like what they've been doing with like JJ and Mo in the last week or so. This guy sounded live...with a few stumbles and everything.

(just sayin) ;D

I was listening to a station that promoted 96 songs at 9 and 3 everyday, but kept airing commercials every 3 or 4 songs. I called to complain and asked why they did that, and they said, "not in a row..."

;D

Do people really fall for stunts like this? Remember when The Beat was "50 Minutes of Hit Music Every Hour"? HOT 107.9 also did the "Blazin 18 In A Row."
