watch out..kix96 may do some damage !!

WBLK - the 'new'/national morning show..

96.1>>may step it up..liven up the playlist...

99.5fm>>> any signs of steady improvement?

101.1 new 'image' and the addition of "alex leevy" ( was that the name?)
believes may show a slow, steady climb/gain.

and, don't forget..WNED--the classical 'season' is right around the corner.
[just kiddin on that one...]

WJYE will beat Star to the punch on the All-Christmas Music format when WJYE flips on Halloween to coincide with all the Christmas stuff that will show up in stores just after Jack-O-Lantern season.

Jack O'Lantern will NOT be the new morning man on WBUF, succeeding the King of All Hype, er, Media, who will fade into ambivilence on Sirius. O'Lantern might have come to Buffalo if Silver had come up with more gelt, but the deal went south.

The Bills (on their way to a 6-10 season) will push 97 Rock's numbers up on weekends, which will positively affect that station's Monday through Sunday numbers.

The spotlight will be on Jack as to what station loses listeners to iPod 92.9 and how many listeners are lost.

It sounds like every susceptible station has made adjustments. I would not be surprised to see WJYE, WTSS and perhaps WHTT begin using TV in an effort to thwart Jack's potential impact.

I suspect Star and WHTT might be the two stations negatively impacted by Jack, but each seems to have its ducks in a row and good personalities in place. What a hoot if Jack did nothing more than a two share 12+. I'll be generous and give it a four. The lyrics aren't so good and it's hard to dance to.

Where those four 12+ shares come from is anybody's guess. Maybe 1 from Star, 1 from WHTT, 1 from 97 Rock, 1 from the Edge. In the end, the station still gets creamed 25-54.

> Fall book starts tomorrow...any predictions?

The end of the summer book will mean a bit of an uptick for WBEN because of all the national weather news, but that'll fade soon into the fall book, leaving the news cycle pretty much a neutral influence on the ratings barring some other cataclysmic event. That puts WYRK on top for the fall book 12+ and 25-54, IMHO, with WBEN finishing second 12+ while 97 Rock finishes second 25-54.

> how long will howard last? til the end of the year?

Unless he says one of the heavy seven cusswords you can't say, he'll last until 10 AM December 31, when his contractual obligations to Infinity run out. It's an open question whether or not any of the major market Infinity stations have a plan of succession for what they'll air in the morning on 1/3/06.

> Jack going to hold their own?

Yes, but who cares? They'll remain what they've been through all the musical format roulette...a station stuck in the 2s, the weakest of the full-market coverage FMs.

> Country still going to reign?

Looks pretty good. Of course a few big country hits will help; stations strongly branded by their music are always strongly affected by how well that musical genre is selling at any given moment. But if it's a normal season we should see normal strength from WYRK.

> 97 rock and the bills

97 Rock has its own very solid core audience that places it perpetually in the top 5 in the market. What it gets beyond that, may depend on how well the Bills do. If they are above .500 through early December and in the playoff hunt when the book ends, that's good news for 97 Rock. If it starts looking like a 6-10 season in which the team either is unusually hurt, underachieves or gets a particularly poor performance out of Losman, that can make a 0,5 to 1.0 share difference.

> Kiss and new pd? what's the hold up?

How long does it take to vet a PD candidate to find out if he or she is bringing potential payola problems with him from his current job? And is it a struggle to recruit someone into a market that's perceived as economically struggling? These issues could all hold it up...

Will WHTT hold its recent gains from its formatic facelifts of recent months? And will 'KB show further growth?

"1370 Connection" will seek a new host as Bob Smith leaves WXXI to team up with Cheech and Chong in the making of a new album entitled " Earache my a$$".

Meanwhile Bob will be named as Rush Limbaugh’s replacement while Rush is working at his part-time job as a pharmacist at Rite Aid.

Classical music formats will be replaced by the new format "All Liberace, All The Time".

One person will actually be able to hear 950-AM in their car, as they travel next to the station's transmitter site.

There will be no pledge drives this fall on NPR affiliates. Instead the announcing staff will stand outside with signs around their necks that read “ Will Broadcast for Food”.

Raises, bonuses and health benefits will be removed from station manuals. In their place will include the words indentured servitude, cheap, give and take (you give.. management takes)

Scott Fybush will buy the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper and turn it into a poodle grooming parlor.

Close. We're actually going to be the new morning show at K-Rock in New York when Howard Stern leaves at the end of the year. David Lee Roth, eat your heart out! :p

Is it really true he was seen going into Rite Aid HQ with a sign around his neck saying, "Will Work for OxyContin"?

Some say weekend public TV has already become "All Lawrence Welk All The Time"... ;-)

Only on day pattern and only when the wind is blowing east-to-west across Clinton Avenue South. ;-)

Don't give the front office any ideas...

You've obviously been looking at the Clear Channel employee manual. ;-)

There are those who believe this has already happened, at least when you look at its entertainment and media coverage (or lack thereof)...
