Family Life coming to Harrisburg?

Second commercial station in the western part of PA to go religious recently. First was Forever's part simulcast of classic hits The Pickle on 92.1 in Ellwood City.

One of the Family Life daily updates last week talked again about the potential station that will cover Carlisle, Shippensburg, and Chambersburg - but no mention of a specific station. So, here’s a bit of speculation - either Four Rivers’ (Word FM) WZXN at 90.1 or Cumberland Valley Christian Radio’s WPFG on 91.3.

WPFG is a Carlisle B1 that fits this footprint and would be an outright purchase if that ministry wants to exit radio. I believe they only have one translator besides that station.

WZXN is also a B1 that sits along the PA turnpike near Newburg and aims a signal mostly east toward Carlisle, but also touches Shippensburg and Chamberburg on the fringe. Four Rivers might be wanting to trim the western edge of their coverage area in exchange for acquiring a better signal in Reading city via Family Life’s silent W207AE translator that has a CP to move to 89.7 on Mount Penn and increase coverage. I usually keep up with Family Life’s updates and it’s strange that I hadn’t heard them mention this translator acquisition earlier this year, especially given the opportunity for a large population reach.
