Working in the restaurant business is a degrading, mind-numbingly dull "career" that I thankfully got out of years ago, and to which I have no plans of ever returning, if I have anything to say about it.
[size=8pt]Long story short:
I trained at the Clark County Vocational Skills Centre's cullinary arts programme (waste of time if you're learning-disabled, as I am; they don't understand such students AT ALL) then went directly into a local Red Robin property, then moved to Victoria and worked at the local Keg Steakhouse for a few years. So then I came back to the States, moved to Portland and worked part-time at my local RR (again) and another RR property in Portland whilst attending college. Then a couple years later settled back down in Vancouver and took my current job, in effect finally telling the restaurant industry it could (excuse my rudeness) go f--- itself.
And thanks, dmarg and WMC, for coming in to help put up the ceiling tiles on Saturday. The Band Camp's outstanding (as always) musical performance as it all happened was also electrically transcribed for posterity; CDs will be available in the library and LH12 to-morrow.
