Fantastic word game

A "twofer" feature I used to enjoy on WDRC-FM Hartford was one called "Psychic Twin Spin," in which evening DJ Mike Stevens would announce and play an oldie by a specific artist and ask his listeners to call in and predict which other song by that artist he would play next.

No prizes, but he'd play back a few of the guesses before playing the second half of the twofer, and some of the guesses were pretty creative.

A "twofer" of lovely young library interns just dropped off a splendid package of goodies at my virtual Game Czar office door and I just can't thank them enough for that.

CT, Miss Silkie did in fact mention 'verbiage' in the non-bolded portion of her contribution while she was chiding me for the mis-usage and/or misspelling.

Next time, I will triple check the last response so that I make sure I am not missing a page or pages of previous contributions.

My bad. 6 demerits on myself.

Pages of previous contributions from this thread, if read out loud, would sound like a Jean Shepherd story.

If anybody spent any time listening to WOR (710, New York) during the 70s, you will know what I'm talking about. The guy could talk! He is also the narrator for the movie "A Christmas Story."

A Jean Shepherd story about a twofer in the above-referenced post CTListener seems to have missed that I did in fact correct the spelling, but it must be noted that I used verbage in its proper context, as defined by the misspelling making it garbage, so if anybody wants the definition as I posited it, it is "A deliberate misspelling and mispronunciation of verbiage that assimilates it to the word 'garbage'".

Thus, the twofer was in my reply to WMC. Apology accepted. I just did the same thing, WMC, so maybe the page did something weird.

The word 'garbage' is spending a lot of time here on these pages so hopefully we can soon move forward with something else.

To go for a job interview, make sure you dress to impress, research the company, ask plenty of questions, and maintain direct eye contact.

Eye contact amongst dancers and music lovers at Illusions results in the occasional coupling.

Sadly, that never works between me and any of the interns.

Hey, the weekend is here and it's time to relax unless you've been sick all week in which case it's time to relax even more. Join us tomorrow night at the new Illusions for another great 80s Rockfest. I'll be there with my Game Czar N-95 mask on. And I'll be back in my Game Czar office Monday morning. Have a great weekend!!

The occasional coupling, when it occurs, is something most people look forward to.

Most people look forward to a bruising session on the mechanical bull when they go to the new Illusions, which usually leaves them too sore for any late-night coupling, occasional or otherwise.

I, as an outspoken opponent of any bucking animal or animal-like device, am always free of those aches and pains. Interested, interns?

Otherwise known as TFWG (as I prefer), the Fantastic Word Game continues onward and upward nearly 17 years after its debut.

Just 60 days until our 17th anniversary.

Its debut featured a star studded cast who came and went, but by and large, our anchors remained solid.

WTAE-TV Channel 4 in Pittsburgh has nothing on WCVB-TV Channel 5 in Boston whose anchors and reporters have lasted for 25 to 30 years or more.

Famed anchor Natalie Jacobson retired in 2007 after 30+ years as anchor and 35 with the station overall. She and co-anchor Chet Curtis married in 1975 and eventually went through a very public separation and divorce.

Czar WMC once again expresses sincere apologies to our Linguistics Director and everyone else for forgetting to bold my ending clue.

3 more demerits. Thank you Mr. DOL (as you may or may not prefer) for calling me out on that. Got any good linguistics tips, thoughts, observations or such for all of us since you haven't given any lately? You are way behind on that.
