Fantastic word game

My ending clue is always in boldface, which leads me to inquire about the Game Czar's alcoholic beverage consumption.

The now downgraded Covid Sniffles played a set last night at the new Illusions during the 80s Rockfest intermission.

I don't drink. I think I was rushing so I'd get my contribution in before someone else replied before me. I'm so silly.

Sit down and chat a bit and listen to a few of my rambling yet fascinating stories about copy editing, country music, shortwave listening, baseball, horse racing and mechanical bull destruction.

WMC: What? My dissection of the verbage/verbiage difference wasn't good enough for you? OK, here's a helpful one, a real oldie but goodie, that I learned back when I was DoL in second grade: "I before E, except after C, or when sounded as A, as in neighbor and weigh."

Guns N' Roses repeatedly tried to warn us about posting to strange message boards, but we didn't listen.

We didn't listen to Billy Joel either when he said he didn't start the fire, that it's been burning since the world's been turning, but so much has happened in the 34 years since that song was released that it really needs to be updated.

"Or something like that" is the vague phrase Abraham Lincoln used to end his first draft of the Gettysburg address, which began with an uncertain "A number of years ago, our fathers or mothers (I'm not positive which) brought forth somewhere I can't recall a new territory or principality or nation, exactly which I am never sure ..."

Sure am happy to see a new contributor.

Weiserguy, welcome to the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I and many others prefer). We are happy that you joined us. Just a couple of little rules to remember. As you've already done, please use the entire bolded ending clue from the previous contribution as your new beginning clue. Please bold that and also your new ending clue. Keep in mind that your new ending clue needs to lead off a sentence soooooo 'or something like that' isn't the easiest thing to go with. Please use one sentence and one sentence only. Please italicize (or somehow differentiate) your dialogue from your game contribution. Please feel free to review any and/or all of the previous 2,243 pages to see what we do, where we started, how we've evolved, and where we are now.

Please meet our TFWG Executive Board:

A new contributor is always welcomed at the Fantastic Word Game. (y)

Welcome Weiserguy! I guess you have now "met" WMC. To avoid the Christmas rush, you can hate him now!
He is a great guy for the most part, and like a fungus he will grow on you.

Again Welcome!

Join in the fun, but please, do it grammatically, correctly spelled and using the exact words you mean to use, or else yours truly will be all over you.

Yes, it's time to right another WMC wrong, this time in the boilerplate copy he uses to introduce newcomers to the PowerWorld staff and concept. I have noticed that he refers to the Fantastic Word Game, The Fantastic Word Game, TFWG, tFWG, FWG, the FWG, topless driving, Illusions, the new Illusions, the mechanical bull (ugh), and other items as "intelligent properties" of PowerWorld LLC. The correct term for such protected terms and descriptions is "intellectual properties."

Outdoors is usually where you go when you want to catch a really big fish.

Outdoors is usually where you go when you want to catch a really big fish.
A really big fish stuffs a really big knish, but if that fish will be fried, please gefilte outside.

Thank you for the generous welcome and exposition of TFWG's "rules of the road". As should now be apparent (mine, not yours), I strive for accurate grammar, demented wordplay and tossing the occasional low and inside pitch. And frequent typos due to lousy eyesight and incredibly poor touch typing skills. Oh, and if you have no clue what gefilte fish is, well bless your heart. :ROFLMAO:
