Fantastic word game

The best things to come from our great work here at TFWG are the long lasting relationships and friendships.

Unless you are andreajesus or Anyacat and then you apparently dont care about that. :'(

A TFWG night at Illusions with MarcB in the DJ booth spinning the greatest hits of the 80's would have to include "The Safety Dance" as well as Australia's most important contribution to the music scene: AC/DC.

I think Australia has nurtured some other talents (like Kylie Minogue and Air Supply). They could be played as well if there's sufficient time. And interest.

AC/DC comes from the land down under, which reminds me that I will never understand modern home inspectors, who have a tendency to inspect from the top down, as though they were painting, rather than from the foundation up, the way the home was built.

Come on, people; the place was built from the foundation up, is inspected by appraisers from the foundation up and should be inspected by structural engineers and home inspectors from the foundation up...unless, of course, your listing agent asks the appraiser on the QT to kill it, in which case the appraiser whose property is being appraised is asked if it is okay to just start all the way at the top and work down as low as you can go after your listing agent says to the appraiser, "This is the one we talked about". Banks have been known to do the same thing, so that they don't have to make loans.

The home was built to code, but then they had to expand it, add a parking lot, and get the zoning changed when the Olivia Newton-John Movie Marathon started hitting it big.

Do you even know where Olivia Newton-John is from, raptus?  ??? ??? If you haven't read the section of your employee manual that deals with Olivia Newton-John [it's in the front of Volume I], I recommend doing so to prevent future egregious violations such as that one.

Hitting it big is something I like to do when running the sound at various regional hacker conventions in the Northwest.

That is, when my computer's not catching on fire, as it did last week. I'm back, at least for now, contingent on whether I can keep this CPU from overheating as well.....

Regional hacker conventions in the Northwest are more of a geek-fest than even Star Trek conventions.

I say that with all due respect, Darth...no offense intended. Quad, I think raptus was deliberately trying to get your goat. Although I shudder to think what he would actually do with that goat...

Next summer, I hope that we are all able to attend a TFWG gathering at quad's house.

I also hope that we have a couple hundred more contributors by then. Might wanna get that Olympic sized pool installed by then, quad. ;D

A TFWG gathering at quad's house would probably be a lot nicer if quad made the suggestion and offered the invitation.

If quad made the suggestion and offered the invitation for everyone to pile up at my house, it would have to be done in shifts.

Yeah I figured raptus was being purposely obtuse. I'm sure he was thinking "Olivia Newton-John" in his head [like all good TFWGers] when he was talking about Australia, but he kept the words from leaking out of his mouth. Sometimes it's good enough to just think the words.

In shifts was the manner in which Thanksgiving dinner would again be conducted, unless a blanket was spread on the cold floor to accommodate more than one lone diner who had nothing to offer on which to sit, while those who knew better feasted in comfort and closed the poor band campers out of their minds until after their favorites were tended to.

Left overs don't stand much of a chance at Gabourey Sidibe's house.

I actually had to put some thought into that post because ON-J is not from Australia. She was born in England and moved there when she was 5. Figuring out how to imply she was from Australia (when I knew she wasn't) forced me to think about her for at least two solid minutes. Which is two minutes longer than I ever usually think about her. Especially when April Bowlby is on TV.
