Fantastic word game

The boys from CHiPs were not as easy on the eyes for me as Randi Oakes [Officer Bonnie Clark], who apparently has been married since 1980 to actor Gregory Harrison from "Trapper John, M.D.."

"Trapper John, M.D." leading man Pernell Roberts hung up his saddle and walked off the "Bonanza" set in 1965 because he thought that the writing and directing left a lot to be desired.

[What's with all the traffic here on nights and weekends? Don't you people have lives!? :D ]

Nights and weekends used to be a lot more interesting before I became old and crotchety.

(I used to have such a crush on Pernell Roberts when I was a kid)

(RadioJunky....listen to me for the final time. ONE SENTENCE!! ONE SENTENCE!!! Not two sentences. Not three sentences. ONE SENTENCE. I am now forced to hijack your response and I am THISCLOSE to banning you from the game. )

Mad About You starred Paul Reiser and the ever-lovely Helen Hunt who also starred in the movie As Good As It Gets with Jack Nicholson.

Jack Nicholson is the second person famous for saying "Heeeere's Johnny!", after Stephen King's writing team borrowed the line from Ed McMahon, who had coined the phrase years before for "The Tonight Show."

The Tonight Show used to be famous for Aunt Blabby and Carnac but now, unfortunately, is famous for Jay Leno's horrid interviewing skills and The Dancing Itos.

The Dancing Itos may have been funny as a concept (hey, smoke enough pot and anything is funny), but my sides were never in danger of splitting whenever I witnessed its execution.

Shoot raptus ya beat me:
The Dancing Itos sounds like it might have been funny during its time, but if it's still a running gag after 13 years, then Jay Leno is not 1/4 the comedian he is getting paid to be. :D

So I'll say

Execution of a well-thought-out comedy conceptualization, taped or in front of a live audience, is the hardest part of comedy.

During the Fantastic Word Game (and my playing thereof), I will often multi-task by thinking about Hill #23, what Anyacat is wearing, and whether or not I really did see a mysterious hand at the Xcel Energy Center scribbling this phrase: Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin.

Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin sent me scrambling to Wikipedia and I never scramble to Wikipedia, or anywhere else if I can help it, but now I know the meaning of Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin, which is my second great find of the day, my first being Bacon Salt.

Meat and spices go together like a horse and carriage.. ;D

(Sorry, had to go back to the tv theme. And Stuart, Sherry Stringfield is not on CSI. She was on ER for two different tenures. Bad Stuart. Baaaaaaaaad Stuart. ) To be honest with you, I have never heard the name Sherry Stringfield before :-[

Horse and carriage was a way to get around back in the days of Little House on the Prairie but, nowadays, a Segway might be used by the street patrol on Hill Street Blues.

Hardcastle and McCormick starred actor Brian Keith who was perhaps best known as Uncle Bill from the CBS show Family Affair.
