The hookah pipe when retired makes an excellent lamp.
(Travel Tip: Cruising is the best kind of vacation for those of us who only want to unpack once. The Mexican Riveria is one of my favorite places and I found the absolute perfect small hotel with excellent an beach, but spotty service and really mediocre food. It is located near Tulum, which is inches away from becoming another Cancun. When in the area, you must visit Chichen-Itza, which was capital of the ancient Mayan empire. The ruin is in excellent condition. Once there, you will see the pyramid of Kukulkan (75 feet high), the Temple of the Warriors, the Ball Court, the Observatory and the Sacred Well where prisoners of war were sacrificed to ancient gods. Wear comfortable shoes and a hat and bring bottled water.)

(Travel Tip: I read today that Lucca, a lovely town in beautiful Tuscany, passed a law banning ethnic eateries in its old town. So, when in Lucca, you will have to look elsewhere to feed that Mac attack or if you have a yen for Chinese take-out. A lot of people consider this another example of Italy's attempt to close itself off to other cultures. Actually, other cities have done the same in an attempt to protect local products and ever-so-yummy cuisine. Unfortunately, business that are already will remain open, so that miserable Dunkin' Donuts across from the Trevi Fountain gets to stay.)
