Fantastic word game

Original, antique pinball machines and skeeball as well as a few air hockey tables are found in the band camp recreation room, and out back are batting cages and a minature golf course.

AND I forgot to bold (that sound you hear is you-know-who's head exploding)

Scuze me whilst I clean up some stuff from the walls. :D

More has been done there (I deleted one 'been') since the drive-in movie screen was added a few years ago and the outdoor 24-hour picnic area has added even more to the ambiance.

Back in the 1950s, band camp was visited by a young leather-jacket-wearing, motorcyle-riding, thumbs-upping man named The Fonz who warned the kids against jumping the shark.

We jumped the shark about 500 pages ago. :D :D :D :D

Jumping the shark is an expression that has indeed jumped the shark, but like the Energizer bunny and TFWG it keeps on going, and going, and going...

It keeps on going, and going, and going...these references to band camp and yet it's been more than a day since anyone has mentioned Quad's beloved Olivia Newton-John so let me be the first to do that this morning.

This morning, Mr Band Camp Executive Director, I must tell you how much I dislike the structure of your sentence despite our former participant, Ssummers, defending the ellipsis and I must also tell you that Olivia is MY beloved because We Go Together.

We go together like peanut butter and jelly, like Popeye and Olive Oyl, like spaghetti and meatballs... :)

(even though Ssummers slammed me ON THIS BOARD if NOT THIS THREAD, why are you getting after him about the ellipsis - ESPECIALLY since i was the first one who was using them?? :))

Spaghetti and meatballs is a popular dinner dish in the band camp dining hall however the counselors and I always hope it's not on the menu when one of the semi-regular food fights erupt between the drum line and the brass section.

I thought WMC only objected to the use of an ellipsis at the end of sentence. Apparently I was wrong. And yes Andrea, my use of the ellipsis was indeed an ode to you.

My dear, please refresh my memory as to how I "slammed" you on this board, because I think you are mistaken as far as that goes. As for the ellipsis, it is a perfectly acceptable and useful writing tool when used correctly. The only one who deems it unnacceptable is WMC, because he finds it "unnecessary". If "unnecessary" was a sentence structure "rule", then adjectives would be incorrect in his world, too. And thanks for thinking of me occasionally, y'all.

andreajesus is a delicate little flower who seems easily offended.

Meanwhile

Musically, Olivia Newton-John never floated by boat.

Hello Sir, nice to see you again. I knew mentioning your name would lead to an appearance. ;D
Andrea, I'm sorry for ignoring you. I'll be happy to get on top of you next time. Oh wait. Sorry! I meant I'd be happy to get on you about something next time. Actually, I'll do it now. I hate ellipses. Please stop using them. K? :-* :-* :-*

The PowerWorld band camp Drum and Bugle Marchers always have an exciting tug-of-war competition each summer with the PowerWorld Flute and Harmonica Blowers.

Funny stuff, WMC. Don't flatter yourself...you knew nothing of the sort. If your mentioning of my name was all it took for me to reappear, then I would've shown up days ago when you couldn't help yourself but mention my name. Besides, I didn't show up because YOU mentioned my name anyway, I resurfaced because I wanted to address Andreajesus' feeling that I "slammed" her...which I didn't. I could care less what you think, my friend. Oh, nice seeing you again, too, even if it was for a short while...and thanks for confirming what I've known all along...you ban ellipses not because they are used incorrectly, but because you just don't want anyone to use them. Hey, I have an idea...let's ban the use of the word "the" and any gerund phrase, too.

The PowerWorld Flute and Harmonica Blowers are out of town this weekend and at a retreat far from the internet, and it seems like they picked a bad time to miss a donnybrook.
