Fantastic word game

Here I am scratching my head wondering why Marc would pass up the opportunity to purchase a perfectly good Olivia Newton-John record album?

Ship it? Why would you ship? Don't you want to add it to your collection? If not, quad and I would have gladly made the trek to your humble abode to take it off your hands!

Futuristic album covers in the days before CD's included E.L.O's Out of the Blue and the self-titled debut album by the band Boston.

Hey guys, look! Who's the new kid? Welcome KDM 7000.

The band Boston had some pretty futuristic album covers, but so did Yes and Asia.

The Asia debut album cover is nicely mocked in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" when Steve Carell is asked "How hard were they laughing when you brought in this poster to be framed?"

Yes and Asia pale in comparison to a really fine recording of classical or operatic music, but what do I know as not only do I have a turntable, but I use it.

I use it at home more than my CD player because nothing compares to the warm sound of vinyl playing an analog recording in spite of it's inherent imperfections.

Years ago, my turntable and albums were stored away...until one day when my eldest daughter who was about 10 years old at the time stumbled across them while rummaging for lost toys upon which she asked me "what are those really big CD's in the garage?" At that point, I dusted off the old turntable and gave me kids a lesson on the merits on vinyl and the value of album covers. Glad it's still working today!

A tolerable place becomes even more tolerable when we all keep our focus on the commonalities of a thread that bind us together instead of the nuances that set us apart.

Are ya' with me, Quad? ;)

Apart from sheer joy and excitement over TFWG library reopening to keep me going, I have the happiness that comes from Sweetie Pie being such a cute wiseguy with New Year's resolutions.

I hear ya, WMC. I've been in here working away to make the library the warm, happy place we all know and love. I will be sure that all the books are delivered back by the 21st.

New Year's resolutions are fun and all but of the multitudes of people who make them, few truly have the discipline to follow through on their well-intentioned stated goals; indeed beyond a token effort during the first few weeks of the year it is known that in short order many resolutions will fall by the wayside as the realities of life make meaningful change for many a near-impossibility.

A near-impossibility would be me not chastising Basnya for using two sentences to create one long wordy sentence but I won't do that because I'm happy that we have some newbies and not so newbies making contributions and so, as Game Czar, I would like to extend a hearty welcome to Basnya, YezIknoradio, and KDM 7000.

Yes, I know Basnya has been here semi-regularly and I welcomed Yez yesterday but I wanted to get them all into one clue. ;D Gentleman, please make sure to get your TPS reports into quad every Thursday. You can combine this weeks report with next weeks report.

Basnya, YezIknoradio, and KDM 7000 could probably benefit from a review of TFWG procedures and protocols as well as a recap of TFWG's hierarchy, organizational structure and support system if WMC can find the time.

If WMC can find the time, which he cannot right at this juncture, he would certainly summarize all TFWG protocals which would include wasting a post by merely making a comment but not bothering to make a contribution which is what Basnya did.

Three TFWG Demerits for Mr. Basnya.

I shall recap TFWG hierarchy when I get home tonight. If you cannot wait, I would direct you to about a dozen or so pages back where I recapped the rules and hierarchy a couple of weeks ago.

For those of you leaving work early today, please leave your office computers on as IT will be performing routine maintenance over the holiday weekend. Have a safe holiday weekend. The PowerWorld Sobriety, Black Coffee and Topless Demistification Centre is open tonight for it's annual one night per year gathering from 7pm until 2am.

What Basnya did should be a lesson for all of us because comments and commentary are as a rule only acceptable when they follow an appropriate and worthy contribution to TFWG.

By the way if anyone needs a designated driver tonight, I understand Anyacat will be on call to offer topless rides home to card-carrying TFWG members who have been partaking in the consumption of too many adult beverages.

An appropriate and worthy contribution to TFWG usually includes a double entendre, a misspelling, at least one punctuation error, and a coded message for which you need your official Band Camp TFWG sanctioned faux brass decoder ring.

Happy New Year my online friends and a reminder to LOOK UP tonight as there will be a blue moon. How cool is that? The first drunk bus leaves at 12:45 AM from the Band Camp reception area. Tops optional.
