Working in radio still seemed like a good idea pre-Cheap Channel, but now that they've exerted their stranglehold on the business and transformed it from a community service to a commodity, the best opportunities to get into broadcasting (at least around here) are in those stations that are volunteer operated, lest one should end up in the unemployment queue with all the former keypunch operators, Telex typists, photofinishers and telephone operators of the world.
