Fantastic word game

The hoops you have to jump through to get decent entertainment at Illusions Nightclub are unbelievable.

This is my 800th post! Happy daze! ;o)

Unbelievable complications were encountered during WGZOO's setup phase, but due to Bruce's ingenuity (and Robin's pizza runs) we were able to get it somewhat straightened out.

[size=8pt]Just a reminder: DON'T INSTALL TELEPHONE WIRE DURING A LIGHTNING STORM!

(Well, at least he wasn't eaten by a Grue....)

Errors and omissions made on system account request forms will inevitably lead to headaches and hair-pulling.

[size=8pt]Otherwise known in the DSM as "stress-induced trichotillomania".

Several TFWG participants were observed voting on what kind of glue to use to glue hair back on some who pulled their hair out, but they were stymied when one of them vocalized cogitation about why the glue didn't stick to the inside of the jar.

The inside of the jar contains whiskey according to the old Irish Folk song "Whiskey in the Jar."

"Whiskey in the Jar" might, by a very long stretch of the musical imagination, be the Irish corollary to the Sara Evans country hit of a few years back, "Suds in the Bucket," or maybe not.

Maybe not is one of those rare, difficult clues with which to begin a sentence, but we manage as we make our way to Page 10,000.

Those who went before us, and Olivia Newton-John, surely (although maybe) never experienced the several tornados that hit western Massachusetts yesterday afternoon.

Seven tornados touched down in western Mass late yesterday afternoon about an hour west of me. Lots and lots of damage and 4 deaths.(

Yesterday afternoon was, for the most part, spent getting Debian set up and going on my personal system, and while it has more than its fair share of bugs and oddities (especially on my ancient mid-19th century hardware), it's still somewhat of an improvement over the Mandrake Linux I was running before.

[size=8pt]At least now I'm not dependent on a central software repository for *everything*. The Mandrake I was using is an older one (2008.1) and likely to be removed in the next couple years, rendering it pretty much useless. That was my main motivation, getting away from that. KeithE4'd probably be proud of me. ;o)

An improvement over the Mandrake Linux I was running before still makes it no match for the Windows-XP powered Manimal.

Manimal was a short-lived TV series about a guy who helped police solve crimes by shape shifting into various animal forms but if you don't actually remember the show that's probably because it ran for only 8 episodes back in 1983.

Back in 1983, we were still a long way away from starting our little game here but, nevertheless, quad, dmargalotti and I still spent many afternoons together after school planning our future TFWG adventure.

Back then, our working title was The After School Special but a certain tv network didn't like that idea so it was a continuous work in progress for us.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is on the set list for tonight's East Coast All Stars DJ Show at Illusions.

See ya there, WMC, dmarg, and anybody else who can make it! Needle drops at 9!
