"If you see something, say something" seems to be the mantra in today's pathetically surveillance- and punishment-obsessed society (read: police state), but unless it's something actually worth reporting, like a bank being robbed or a hit-and-run murder, I generally tend not to report it or get involved, because chances are good that it's Somebody Else's Problem and really none of my business to begin with.
[size=8pt]Because when I was in pre-K, almost 30 years ago, we were always taught that tattling on people is naughty. Makes me wonder what they're drilling into such impressionable young minds these days......
Besides, knowing the current state of Law Disenforcement in Portland especially, you'd be better off keeping your mouth shut than even so much as casually greeting a cop as you pass each other on the street down there. Unless, of course, you don't mind getting shot!
