Fantastic word game

Me and Kenny and all you guys might end up celebrating today because Page 2000 is just a few contributions away but I am actually going to work today so I won't be here should we reach Page 2000 during the day so I will pre-congratulate whomever gets that blessed mark in history.

My sources inform me that the champagne bottles are ready to be uncorked at the Radio-Info offices.

Whomever gets that blessed mark in history will probably be a long lost member who shows up only for the post, propelling the rest of us to the top before fading away into the mist.

Into the mist while shoveling out the driveway a little while ago, I wondered who might have grabbed the illustrious Page 2000 prize but, as it turns out, there's been just one contribution since mine this morning and we are barely any closer to Page 2000 than we were 12 hours ago.

I just can't believe it. We're almost there and nobody visited today????????????????????

12 hours ago, it wasn't snowing yet but it did start later on and hasn't stopped yet so maybe a lot of you have lost power and that's why nobody has come by here all day long.

Like watching Globe Trekker, or watching the snow fall, the day passed by pretty quickly.

We got a foot of snow here in central Mass and a bunch of huge limbs came down in the corner of the yard. Other towns not far west of me got close to two feet of snow. Happy October!

Pretty quickly, if the sun comes out sometime, that should all melt by Thanksgiving, just in time to head over the river and through the woods...to Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits.

Stop the presses! A whole Thanksgiving dinner is going to be in the works, and I will even be roasting a turkey dinner. Perhaps the turkey will fare better than some other years. ;D

Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits was bustling this morning with overnight snowplow drivers and other assorted people who came into PowerWorld Town because they had lost power in their neighborhoods.

In their neighborhoods, the power was out, and most had dispersed to powered areas, but the ones who stayed were packing just enough heat to thwart any potential looters.

Not that anyone in today's world would do that or nothing.

To thwart any potential looters, you better have security guards, canines and tear gas ready, because page 2000 might be out of control!

WOW. 2 posts and counting to 2000. 12 posts and counting to post 20,000. I am ready for a celebration!

Out of control and off the charts, to be sure, will be the partying that occurs with Page 2000, but just think, we can also make it to Page 3000 in another three years.

So, as I was mistaken in my last post regarding how the turkey would fare, I would like to clarify that either way the turkey is in for a good roasting.  How others fare is another matter entirely.  Normally, it is a crown roast or a huge ham, with all of the glazing and garnish that goes along with the ham.  Then, the smushed potatoes, candied yams, greens, salads, cranberry sauce, yep, even stuffing and sauerkraut.

I simply cannot believe that andreajesus did not stop by for a post or two.  I was pretty sure that one of the regulars would not make the last post, but I guess others, in addition to having the funky woo woos probably have to do the snow cleanup thingy.

In any event, we are nearly to Page 2,000.  Onward and upward?

In another three years we will have a look back over our three thousand pages and marvel that we never ran out of original ideas and contrived stories.

Anyacat said:
The greatest internet thread of all time devoted to an imaginary band camp, unrequited love for Olivia Newton-John, and sundry complaints from those drop in looking for hidden meanings and portentous signs.

(It snowed here today, not much and most of it melted into black ice come nightfall, but it snowed here. I am no longer young enough to be thrilled by snow, nor wealthy enough to flee south for the season. I am reduced to sitting in the cold muttering "Snow, snow go away, and stay there..." I think I need to take up drinking. Only 115 days until topless days return. Bah humbug!)

We never ran out of original ideas and contrived stories but we do occasionally post without offering contributions as Miss Silkie has just done to artificially inflate our count but seeing that old post from our good friend Anyacat made me smile so I forgive Miss Silkie for it this time and we hope she learns from it.

And congratulation to Miss Silkie for hitting the first mark on Page 2000.

We hope she learns from it that pulling double and triple duty to keep the band camp open for bidness during a weather emergency is not something that is well recognized or appreciated around this joint, and then to be forgiven, after I dug through and poured over 1001 tomes for sentimental reasons...well, I never!

Well, I never saw snow like this in October because at my house we've got 18 inches of the white stuff sitting in our yard and at work, all the wide spread power outages resulted in us being off the air for 29 hours despite our back up plans and systems which were apparently no match for mother nature who always seems to get the last laugh.

Congratulations on making it to 2,000 pages my friends! Now it's on to 3,000 and beyond!!!

Our panache and verve will keep us going for years to come but it's always helpful to welcome new contributors and to welcome back those who have visited in the past.

The past goes very fast sometimes, as we've gone from page 1000 to page 2000 in less than two years.

Get the confetti, fireworks, media outlets, movie deals, book deals, hugs, kisses :-* and everything else you can think of here, we've reached page 2000!

Thanks to Silkie for posting the first post of page 2000!
Thanks to WMC2006, quadraphonic, dmargalotti, kenrayc, Darthvader and DToTheJ for posting on this board!

Now...who will reach post #20,000? Find out on a two-hour TFWG special w/ special guest Megan McCormack... :D ;D

Oh, and I almost forgot, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
