The FWG nine are totally awesome and watching them is a great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Oh, hi Kenny, nice of you to fit us into your schedule. It's been so long since we've seen you. Miss Silkie and I have been taking your place alongside Dave for the past couple of weeks since you haven't bothered to show. I'm thinking that Dave is enjoying the new Dave 80s Rockfest at Illusions. But he'd probably welcome you back if you decided to show up here regularly. You should speak to him about that. ;D

A summer afternoon like this one, with its slight overcastness and foreboding "looks like rain" skies, is a good time for a nap, not that there's really any particularly bad time for a nap, except maybe for when you're driving or emceeing a gig.

Emceeing a gig like he does every Saturday night at Illusions makes me think that dmargalotti missed his calling in life.

Oh wait, he does that anyway in real life. Never mind. ;D

His calling in life was not so much emceeing a gig or gigseeing a mig, it was more of the romantic side of life where running a pay toilet or tootsie roll stand was not considered wasting your time.

Wasting your time trying inferior snacks is not conducive to a productive day when all you have to do is go to the gas station across from joey's house and grab some nabs and yoohoo.

Grab some nabs and yoohoo was the pattern for the RadioDiscussions police force today as they nabbed several people for littering, spamming, spelling "a lot" as a single word, lying about their age, abusing band camp picccolos and other offenses and then yelled "yoohoo" to get everyone's attention so they could point to the ones they nabbed and issue a warning that made it clear, "Be vigilant or this could happen to you too."

If "nabs" and "yoohoo" had been capitalized, I would have gone in a different direction but.....

This could happen to you too but I don't think it will because no one knows what this is, though there is a suspicion that the man who delivers the tootsie rolls to the gas station across the street from my house may know what this is, thus throwing down the gauntlet into the mud and having to get a new pair of gloves.

(Geez...I'm exhausted)!

Having to get a new pair of gloves means either the old pair wore out or you destroyed them somehow or you lost them.

Let it happen and if it happens that you're let down because what happened wasn't very exciting, then you can let something else happen.

I think I read a similar statement in an old Norman Vincent Peale book. :D

Bait your hook, drop your line into the water and be patient because today could be the day you catch the biggest fish you've ever seen in your life.

The one that got away was a rather small fish, but slithered through my hands because I was putting on sunscreen (A 50!) and this beautiful fish shaped like a tootsie roll, available for 2 cents each at the gas station across the street from my apartment was no longer mine.

My apartment was no longer mine because I forgot to pay the rent so they rented to someone else so, in desperation, I've moved in with joey and his collection of nabs.

We'll get along fine but certain rules need to laid down before we move in together, such as no bathing in the sink, making sure the top is on the peptic ulcer medicine I have for my future illness, not touching me unless you have a pack of NABS in your pocket, and most importantly, not taunting the homeless gals who live with me unless they won't wear their party pants.

(Actually living in my apartment would be cool for anyone, because behind the gas station, which is across the street from my house, is a bowling alley that slicks down the floor with sorgum).
