Fantastic word game

Attracts from either a higher or lower level will depend on where you want to end up once you've reached your final destination.

None of that makes any sense whatsoever but I'm the Game Czar so it's ok! Also, I couldn't come up with anything using 'attracts' as the first word.

Your final destination is Boston, as is clearly printed on your ticket, so why are you trying to get off the train in Providence?

"Attracts bees is what the pollen in flowers does." is what I came up with and originally submitted, but your nonsensical contribution was hiding in the weeds (in other words, the next page) so I had to continue from your clue instead. May I suggest, WMC, that when stumped, you allow sufficient time for other players to take a stab at it?

Providence, Rhode Island is known to have good Italian food but I didn't find any on my one trip through Rhode Island a few years back.

The Mrs. and I were scouting colleges for two of our kids. After touring Brown in Providence for our daughter we headed toward the University of Rhode Island in Kingston for our son. Somewhere in between we stopped in a shopping plaza to grab lunch. My son and I saw a store front with a sign that read "Pizza Deli" out front so we headed in that direction. When we walked inside it looked nothing like the pizza places I frequented in NJ and NY. It was laid out more like a bakery with trays on the shelves of what looked to be Sicilian pizza behind the counter. When it came time to order, I politely said to the woman, "I'd like four slices please". She replied with, "you want what". "4 slices of pizza please" I said as I pointed to the trays behind her.,

"Oh, those are strips. Do you want red or white strips". "What's the difference", I ask? "Red strips have sauce, white strips don't". "Okay, 4 red strips to go please". My son and I got our order and headed to the car to eat. Let me tell you, I'm not sure what this faux pizza-like food was, but it definitely was not pizza. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better! Whatever, as bad as it was, I will say that it was better than the so-called pizza I got one time in Rochester, Minnesota. That's a story for another time.

Back here, in the rear corner of The Fantastic Word Game (or TFWG, as most prefer), sits a long, tall Texan who suddenly and surprisingly comes to the aid of the almighty Game Czar, silently sneaking into the ring after the lights suddenly go out, and cracking the Cerebral Heel over the head with a Roper boot, in a tip of the hat to the legendary Fabulous Freebirds, for ever having the audacity to question the game play of our fearless leader.

There's your receipt, CH. 😁

Victory over the Song Name Game and Word Association would bring several talented players of those games to TFWG as the spoils of war.

They would be given the choice of pledging loyalty to TFWG or unpaid servitude at a remote PowerWorld Band Camp, emptying the spit valves of its 500-person brass section twice daily.

'The spoils of war' is another clue for which I have zero possibilities for an adequate contribution so I'll do what CT suggests and leave things alone until someone else comes in to save the day.

But, now, seriously, yesterday when I posted, it had been nearly an hour since the 'attracts' contribution. How much time do we consider 'sufficient', CT? Hour and a half? Three hours? Hmmm?? Should I just not post at all and wait until the next night? Hmm?

Someone else comes in to save the day, but unless they're Mighty Mouse, they're unlikely to be singing a theme song.

Dunno, Czar. Seems to me that among dm, rc, Silkie, Stuart, scan and myself, there should be at least a couple of players other than yourself checking out the latest clue and stepping up to the plate within, say, six hours. Granted, "attracts" was a ridiculously difficult word to carry on from, but what's so difficult about a familiar expression like "the spoils of war"?

Home movies were still recorded on Kodachrome during dmargalotti's childhood.

Just kidding, Dave. I'm sure Super 8 film had already taken over by then. 😂

The same as most of ours were would mean he grew up with an Atari 2600, a view master, Rock 'em Sock 'em robots, Lite-Brite, and a wicked game called Chutes and Ladders.

Chutes and Ladders was not something we played but we did play stuff such as Operation, Sorry!, Monopoly, Candy Land, various card games and Hot Wheels and Matchboxes.

Which brings us to Friday night and a reminder to join us tomorrow night, via the big PowerWorld livestream, or in person at the new Illusions for another great edition of the 80s Rockfest with kenny, Dave and myself. I have it on semi-good authority that Miss Silkie and Sweetie Pie might make a special guest appearance in the dj booth at Illusions. Then, later on in the early morning hours, kenny cooks up some great grub at Denny's. See ya there and have a great weekend!!

Operation, Sorry!, Monopoly, Candy Land, various card games and Hot Wheels and Matchboxes can be seen and maybe played at many toy museums around the country. ♣️

The country music requests that we receive at the weekly Rockfest are usually handled by kenny or Dave because I am not a country music kind of guy.

"I am not a country music kind of guy" could just as easily be a quote from the likes of Ozzy Osborne, Tupac Shakur, or Dean Martin.

Houston has become the wild west of broadcasting, in recent years, with various facilities running far more power than authorized, operating from the wrong licensed coordinates, and certain licensees thumbing their noses at the Commission in several different instances.

Several different instances have arisen in the past from when dmargalotti filled in during my vacations and he boobytrapped my office but I'm happy to say that nothing out of the ordinary has happened.

So far. But I am keeping my eyes and ears open. scanman, I trust that you and your team kept my office guarded at all times and made sure that dmargalotti used his own office at all times. :)
