Fantastic word game

Acceptable ways to abbreviate "and" do not include n', notwithstanding the horrible precedent set by Guns N' Roses.

Try 'n' or & instead. Also, "miniscule" is far from becoming an acceptable variant in print media. Of course, such media may not be a significant presence in another decade or less. I grudgingly rescind one of rose's three demerits for miniscule/minuscule, but assess him three more for n'.
 
Roses are a beautiful way to express your love of a significant other, but cause a heck of a ruckus if sent to the wrong woman.

If it's good enough for Axl, hey, it's good enough for me. Get your kendo stick out of your bag and meet me in the ring. I used that n' in the extracurricular activity, not the game play.

You will get the shaft just as Wendi Richter did when the wrong woman was under the mask when she met The Spider (sometimes called Spider Lady) for the WWF women's championship, and that woman was none other than The Fabulous Moolah.

I wasn't going to mention this, rose, but back a few posts, you said that Texas would walk across Massachusetts with a (singular) cowboy boot. Wouldn't that be hopping across Massachusetts, then? Still mulling a possible fractional demerit.
 
A necessity of life for me is my daily visitation to TFWG (as I prefer) because, without it, I just feel as if something is missing.

Ok, let's calm down just a tad on all the demerits. CT, you are not supposed to be critiquing the italicized dialogue. You are only critiquing the game play. So, because rosecity bolded an extra word to the clue, you may decide to issue a demerit or two. However, bolding an extra word is not nearly as bad as NOT bolding the entire clue or even bolding the wrong clue. And it was a tiny word and someone (was it you, CT?) just did the same thing a page or two ago and I chose to overlook it. So, it's your choice, CT, but this one time, for now, I'm willing to overlook it. Yes, I'm surprised at myself too and my head isn't even exploding. Perhaps I'm still in a charitable holiday mood. Give it another week, though, and watch out!! :D
 
Something is missing here, but I just can't figure out exactly what.

Ten demerits to WMC for daring to question the Director of Linguistics' judgment! Remember the old adage: "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." You should have known that giving me an opening, in the form of a title, would lead to my transformation from an amusing entertainer to a ruthless dictator, BwahahahahaHAAAA!
 
Another excellent day for the snow-hating minority here in Vermont, where the ground is still bare and forecasts indicate that this weekend's storm may stay to our south.

WMC: Any chance you could assign one of the lovely library interns to me as my personal secretary and demerit accountant? The workload is only getting bigger as offenses against the language pile up, and I can't have the tiresome mathematics of who's earned how many demerits taking up most of my time. Thanks.

PS -- I prefer petite blondes.

Follow them accordingly if you think that you can structure a sentence from the gleanings of a previous sentence.
