Fantastic word game

Upset is how I would characterize our late friend Anyacat's mood up in heaven when she reads CT's attempt at a haiku because a haiku is supposed to follow a 5-7-5 syllable structure and CT's contribution certainly does not follow that requirement.

That second line has just 6 syllables. 'Resembles' is two syllables, not three. The third has 4 unless you change "cow's" to "cow is". I am SHOCKED to see these errors from the DOL. SHOCKED I SAY!!

I can remember the year, month, day, n' exact minute that my application fer PowerWorld membership was rejected.

Things ain't been quite right 'round here since.

Better go pay yer high school principal a visit n' re-turn yer diploma, WMC. Even this here silly, ol' redneck knows "resembles" is three syllables n' not two.

"re-sem-bles"

Rejected applications usually end up in the trash.

The taste of the milk
Resembles that of sour cream
When the cow's upset.
Re-sem-bles looks like three (3) syllables to me. I could argue that this line actually has eight (8) syllables IF, as some people, you pronounce "sour" as "sow-er" with two (2) syllables.
Line 3 definitely has five (5) syllables, as "up-set" is two (2) syllables.

Many years ago, the RCM Ranch had a dirt track on it where I'd race 3-wheelers, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, n' an old tractor that had been fitted with a much-too-large pulley n' a purdy (that's "pretty" fer the non-rednecks n' linguistic afish...aficio...err, experts that may still be readin' this here par-ticular ramblin'. Spelled right, in flawless, gin-u-wine Southern dialect this time, too.) small belt that really made that sucker move faster than a pre-adolescent should go.

True story, y'all. I've got the numerous scars to prove it, n' I'm the primary reason Papa let the wisteria get outta control n' plumb take it over.

Over-protective parents hope to shield their kiddos from exposure to incorrect punctuation of the kind on display in two recent posts.

No hyphen in either "overprotective" or "preadolescent," according to Webster's, so three demerits each on their way to the Hayseed and the Padre.

Posts like this one aim to obtain the Free Of Grammatical Errors (FOGE as most will prefer) certificate.

Hayseed and the Padre? Sounds like a 1970s CB movie.

The Free Of Grammatical Errors (FOGE as most will prefer) certificate, from my very early contribution years here at TFWG, hangs on my wall at home after I had to yank it from the wall of my former plush and cozy Game Czar corner office, leaving in its wake a bit of plaster and dust.

When I posted this morning, I had found something online that 'resembles' was pronounced 're-sembles' as opposed to 're-sem-bles'. Which means that 'resembles' was 2 syllables. But, whatever, I'm outvoted so I'll take the demerits. I don't know what I was thinking about the other line. I wasn't awake yet I guess.

Wasn't 'Hayseed and the Padre' a spinoff from 'BJ and the Bear'?

The upcoming country music album released by PowerWorld LLC will be available to download electronically or to purchase on vinyl, cassette, CD, and 8-track.

When people tell me they like country music, I usually ask, "which country"?

Vinyl, cassette, CD, and 8-track editions, however, will not contain the newly recorded PowerWorld LLC bonus track.

The newly recorded PowerWorld LLC bonus track will serve as a charity tune whereby the proceeds will be donated to The PowerWorld LLC Executive and Associate Retirement Group (TPWLLCEARG as some prefer).

Evening all. Welcome to the weekend. Hope to see everyone tomorrow night at the new Illusions for another fantastic 80s Rockfest. Join us in person or via the huge PowerWorld livestream. Later on, we'll see you for breakfast at Denny's prepared by kenny. Have a great weekend!!

The PowerWorld LLC Executive and Associate Retirement Group (TPWLLCEARG as some prefer) is funded through associate payroll and company contributions.

Broadcasting was what Moe was doing when he called his fellow stooges numbskulls.

Numbskulls, nitwits, half-brains, puddin' brains, picklepusses, nincompoops, clods, imbeciles, galoots, dumb clucks, dimwits, buffoons, n' bird brains are just a few of insults that ol' Moe Howard slung at his feller Stooges, but if they'd have had any cajones o' their own, at all, they'd have just given him a dose o' his own medicine by layin' into him over that God-awful chili bowl haircut.
