Fantastic word game

A shed full of hanging chainsaws was what it took for rosecity to cut down my Game Czar reign but I still have some secret ties to that office, not that I would ever admit that out loud or anything.

"I would ever admit that out loud or anything" may look like a perfectly fine sentence, but it's not, because no one ever starts a sentence with "I would ever," only "I would" or maybe "I would always," or, if one were looking to express the opposite, "I would never" or "I wouldn't ever," so therefore, I'm not even going to try to continue from that impossible end clue and, instead, will invite someone else give it a try.

Try this again, I will, because I meant to say "I would never admit that out loud".

Stupid typos. It's the interweb's fault, not mine.

*restores the hat on top of his head so that we can get back to the basic good-nature of East Texas redneckery*

I would never admit that out loud, but Kayla didn't pump the brakes on this ol' hayseed's New Year's Eve moves, shakes, n' advances 'tll she caught sight o' the Linguistics Czar glarin' at her while holdin' a half-empty milk bottle in his hand.

Your perspective, rose, on the seriousness of my concern over a potential hayseed hookup involving my intern is as wrong as wrong can be.

She'd told me beforehand that you weren't her type and that she was just going to be friendly with you out of pity. I was in the area that night to pick her up and drive her down to Florida to place than bottle near Constance's final resting place on the frozen cow's birthday, along with a hay wreath and a couple of silage-scented candles.

Be that as it may, I am just now realizing that in all the years I have been contributing to this little game, I have never had as an opening clue or a closing clue the words, be that as it may.

Be that as it may, dmargalotti, we will add that phraseology to the PowerWorld Clue Hall Of Fame (PWCHOF as some may prefer) and move onward to even more hopefully new and exciting clues that everyone can enjoy.

And, now, let's enjoy the weekend, shall we? I never announced it but I was on staycation this week which is why and how I contributed more than I normally do each day. It was wonderful and exciting to join all of you multiple times per day here and on the Song game. So let's get ready to head on down to the new Illusions tomorrow night where Dave, Kenny, the Denny's-sponsored, permanently-guarded mechanical bull and I will put on a good old fashioned 80s Rockfest. Then join us at Denny's early Sunday morning. Have a great weekend!!

Everyone can enjoy a full three-day weekend of playoff football, starting tomorrow with two NFL games and ending on Monday night with the college championship game between Miami and Indiana.

Noting a typo in my italicized nonsense in #53,306. "Than" should be "that."

Indiana vs. Miami football really doesn't interest me unless they show lots of pictures of cheerleaders and, most especially, any of our lovely young library interns who are part of any college or professional football team.

Any college or professional football team whose players are caught sneaking lovely young interns into their hotel rooms at night will immediately be the main topic of discussion on sports talk radio.

Talk radio stations, that tend to have more success in the ratings, focus their attention on the conservative viewpoint, as the broadcasters o' the country found out purdy quickly that nobody in their right mind is buyin' what the Liberals are selling.

On the other hand, those ya-hoos on the "MAGA" side o' the fence ain't smart e'nuff to realize that ol' Don is settin' up the dominoes that'll soon fall, n' at which time we will finally realize Elon Musk's grandpappy's dream.

Excitin' times, I'll tell you what.

What the Liberals are selling apparently doesn't matter much because they and rosecity have managed to shut down the interweb (well, TFWG anyway) with that clue so how about we move things along by mentioning that we are rocking (rockin' if you prefer) the house at the new Illusions so come on down to enjoy some great 80s Rockfest entertainment.

Come on down to enjoy some great 80s Rockfest entertainment while you still can, 'cuz Kenny is hip to the world's current situation n' will be spinnin' R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World As We Know It" every hour, on the hour, until Closing Time.

Which, of course, is brought to you by the 90's band Semisonic.

Closing Time is anywhere from 1am to 3am, followed by cleanup, and then a trip over to Denny's for some delicious grub.

Delicious grub is not how I would refer to White Castle, but in my younger drinking and partying days, those rat burgers sure tasted good at 3am, and since they were so cheap, you could get a half dozen with the spare change in your pocket.

With the spare change in your pocket, you can buy off the new Illusions doorman n' go right on in.

If'n yer lookin' to lighten yer demerit load, however, you'll certainly need a few Benjamins.

Go right on in with your sledgehammers, blowtorches, pickaxes and improvised explosive devices tonight and send that infernal mechanical bull and its protectors to Kingdom Come.

Come on now, CT, surely you really don't want the mechanical bull and its protectors to die horrible deaths.

In which case, I WILL call you Shirley!!

Horrible deaths might involve a person lyin' down on freshly laid asphalt, n' then the steamroller comes by.

Unless, o' course, yer the eeeee-vil Judge Doom.
