Fantastic word game

Verbal warning, written warning, suspension, or termination, as bad as they might be, are nothing compared to a stack of permanent demerits from the Director of Linguistics (DoL as most prefer).

A stack of permanent demerits from the Director of Linguistics (DoL as most prefer) is gathering dust in the PowerWorld printing office because you-know-who has disappeared for awhile while chasing his hayseed dreams across the great plains of Texas.

The business world is having serious doubts as to the viability of the Games Division of PowerWorld Inc., given the recent lack of activity here, and analysts are advising nervous stockholders to sell.

Sorry about the absence. I had no idea it had been so long since my last submission. Reason: RadioDiscussions suddenly stopped sending me notifications of activity here (but not on other forums, including Word Association and Song Titles). I'll have to remind myself to look in here daily to see if anything's happening.

Sell that excuse to someone else, mister, because you should know by now that I am here every single day just as I have been for almost 20 years.

Well, except for those few days when I resigned. And, yes, that's a time-centric clue which you deserve for thinking no one was posting here. And while you were gone doing whatever you were doing, I moved back into my former plush and cozy Game Czar corner office. Silly contributor!

As I navigate through adulthood, I occasionally wonder where I would be and what I would be doing if I chose another path rather than the path I took.

But, somehow, no matter the path, TFWG showed up in every scenario. Weird, right??

The path I took to the RCM Ranch on my recent Texas sojourn was weed-and-beer-can-strewn and led to an abandoned farmhouse and a run-down, ramshackle barn with only one sad, skinny cow as an occupant.

The good news is I've brought her back here, fattened her up and gotten her giving milk again. She tells me she can't wait to meet WMC, move into his plush office and start grazing on that shag carpet. She also looks forward to an occasional romp in his boudoir, just as long as there's hay in the mattress.

An occupant of any barn is not welcome to visit any room or office (plush or corner or otherwise) that I occupy except for Lola, the security cow, who has been placed under my supervision, per the Board of Governors, until HOSS scanman returns from his sabbatical.

Stuffing donuts down your gullet is not very healthy unless you limit it to a couple of them here or there.

Well, it's getting close to the end of the workday so it's time for a slightly early welcome to the weekend. Please join us tomorrow night for a fun-filled 80s Rockfest at the new Illusions. We'll have great music, great dj's, dancing, the world-famous mechanical bull, and some great new tasty tidbits courtesy of the lovely young library interns. I mean, how could you turn down an invitation like that! Plus, kenny will have some of his own creations early Sunday morning at Denny's. See you there and have a great weekend!!

Here or there or everywhere, you are sure to find someone with a tale about the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as most everyone prefers) and its influence on everyday life.

Everyday life brings me here every day which means I'll be holding down the fort by myself until Monday since dmargalotti takes weekends off, scanman is on sabbatical, CT relies on a faulty notification system, and Mister Ed is mainly here and there at the Word Game.

Maybe we should train and authorize Lola, the security cow, plus the rest of the security team, to contribute here. Plus CT's new cow friend from Texas. And the lovely young library interns.

The Word Game, correctly known as The Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as most prefer) is probably the only place where you can find both a security cow and a mechanical bull.

Maybe they will get together. Who knows?

Sheepish is slightly how I felt after reading Mister Ed's contribution which is when I realized that I misidentified the Word Association game as something else.

I mean, Word Association has been around for almost as long as TFWG so I can't believe I did that. Anyacat is looking down on me with the evil eye. I humbly apologize to her up in the heavens.

Something else distracted me which was Lola, the security cow, having a private conversation with CT's new little buddy from the south so I put a stop to that immediately.
