Other people's business (or, perhaps "other peoples' business" but I'll let the invisible DoL decide on that) became his own business for a certain contributor who disappeared recently.
 
A certain contributor who disappeared recently might have set you straight on people's/peoples' (people's, as you correctly prefer), but not before throwing in a bizarre anecdote featuring farm animals, hats, barns, country music, the hayseed lifestyle, and/or your tendency to reuse tired, old ending clues, if I'm thinking of the same former contributor you're thinking of.
