AAA hasn't had much success in Seattle. KMTT (The Mountain) was a well-programmed attempt that fell apart once PPM was rolled out.
Just like Smooth Jazz, the AAA format tended to have a narrow cume and long TSL. When the PPM exposed that nobody listened hour after hour continuously, those formats fell considerably.
Smooth Jazz ended up low-ranked and leaning older.
AAA still had younger listeners, but mostly 45-54. Now they are all over 55 and not a good sales prospect. Only the real heritage AAA stations survived somewhat... Denver and Portland (OR) are about the only strong survivors in the PPM markets.
