FINAL DAY AS "THE STAR" ON 96.5

I knew it wasn't true. Anyway, they were ice cream sandwiches. Not Eskimo Pies.

Actually Mike, I thing it was the Road Dog who made the joke about Spanish. I doubt he knows what he's talking about. I hear he's a jerk.

I hear the Road Dog has a penchant for Klondike bars too.

Flavin, if I were a woman, I'd have to have your baby. Heck, I'm NOT a woman and I'd STILL consider it. Those posts were classic.

Not as funny as the folks who were "pissed off" and "upset" because a format switch didn't happen when they thought it would.

It's a format switch...turn it on once every couple of days and see what happens. Til then....<shrug>

yeah.. ya don't have to be up at midnight every night.. I'm sure someone will post audio from the launch of..."96.5 the Whatever"

From Radio Insight:

I've heard from a very credible source (and no, I'm not telling you who) that 96.5 is indeed going CHR to take on Kiss. Dont know when the sign on is supposed to be, but I'm assuming soon.

Again, old news. Denied in the two weeks since. Radio Insight is the last place I'd go to source a story.

Let's just add this to the list of rumors. When it happens, you'll know.

Any bomb pops left?

I will get in on the guessing game, too. My guess is the Jack format. No guess on the time of change.

I would hope it's not Jack. That format is dying...and has been proven not to stand the test of time.

Shouln't we begin this guessing game on what the Cumulus V.P. told All Access several weeks ago?
The format will fit a "hole in the market".
Seems like 97.7 & 99.5 - MaxFM (yes, I know - signal not really that great yet) is basically the same as Jack format.
Isn't CHR somewhat overdone with the urban stations, plus CHR stations such 107.1 and (sometimes) Q102?
So really, what are the true missing formats in this market?
Smooth Jazz?
Regional Mexican (on FM)?
Free FM - Talk?

Also, isn't this the month that Entercom begins the programming under the LMA for the former CBS stations?
Could be an interesting next couple of weeks!

Another gaping hole = AAA.

Good news! You three are RIGHT!

I'd love to see the jazz format come back. It won't though.

If that's true, then the odds of my prediction (which I have not stated here and won't) being correct have gone way up. Thank you.

Thanks for playing along guys!
I agree that Smooth Jazz or Jack would be a longshot on 96.5.
AAA is probably the best bet - at this point.
However, Entercom is still in the cards with the LMA now in effect for the former CBS Stations. They may flip 97.3 since it's just not getting the job done. That's the signal that could (again, a longshot), go to "Movin" or Jack.
Still say the next 30-60 days will be very intersting for this market. A major "shake-up" hasn't happened in a long time. I'm also sure our friends at CC are sitting back and waiting for the first move on the format shuffle.
Stay tuned (pun intended).
