Finally - Spring book out today.

can I get a show by show update for LIVE, did they do as bad as 12+ indicates?

They can't be great...not in the top 10 25-54 per a previous post. The 12+ number is reaching a level where CBS finally pulled the plug on WFNY New York. Since the format is not aimed at teens or 55+, one would assume the continuing 12+ decline is mirroring a continuing decline in the money demos.

Never mind... Just heard from Charley...

Lite FM is #1 with Women 25-54!

David says Lite FM is 3rd with women. Behind two pretty direct competitors for soccer moms. Which information is correct?

But whatever. The field is pretty weak right now.

Is KLTY really a weak competitor? I'm not a soccer mom, so the Christian AC format has no interest in me and I'm not a listener; most of the songs to me seems like 3rd rate songs from artists that couldn't make it in the secular AC world... In the past, KLTY has been often praised for being one of the best of its kind in the country (again, I don't listen...Salem could have ruined it and made it a shell of its former self, much like KVIL is today). It has basically been the #1 AC for while now..if its reputation is deserved, it would be a legit problem for KVIL since the audience of the two is similar.

KLLI is 21st 25-54, off from Fall and Winter.

So is Russ full of BS when he says that he's number one all over the market?

What exact time is he on? I will check the daypart now, and if his shift is not "standard" I can get a custom daypart tomorrow with Maximiser.

I'm pleasantly surprised by KZPS. Even though it is playing mostly classic rock most people know, the amount of music they play that is less familiar (old rock songs not played heavily on most classic rock stations and some of the Texas country/Americana music) is pretty significant. I figured it would tank. That fact that it isn't is nice. Whether or not you like the music, at least the station is playing stuff that is unique (vs. every other station most people in the market receive).

It's also interesting KDBN hasn't been able to capitalize on KZPS' shift.

If KPLX is #8 25-54 and KSCS isn't in the top 10, one assumes KSCS is skewing older since KSCS beat KPLX 12+. Just shows the 12+ numbers don't always show the whole picture...
KZPS went up, IIRC, .2...That's it...That's with a buttload of free TV coverage, a buttload of paid TV, and a buttload of billboards...2 tenths of a point for all that? I wouldn't be pleasently suprised I'd be majorly disappointed...Especially when you consider the 'sample' factor is always high for new stations-people who hear about the new kid on tehblock are likely to check it out- the question will be how many of them they can keep around...

They may not have tanked, but it'll be interesting to see how many of those samplers stick around for the next couple of trends...

And I do believe if you check the KDBN is up 25-54 about half a share- some of that is probably disgruntled KZPS listeners, same thing, it'll be intersting to see if they stick around for a few more trends...

And yes, KSCS skews incredibly older than KPLX. I saw a breakdown of average ages per station, and I don't remember exact figures, but I want to say KPLX is like late 30's and KSCS is early 50's...Which means that in 5-10 years a lot of KPLX's audience will still be in that 25-54, while a lot of KSCS's won't...

It's always a case of check teh fine print. It's entirely possible that Russ is #1 men 18+, or men 18-34 or something like that...
But 12+ ? No way...
Men 25-54? Ticket is handing him his a** on a silver platter...
Persons 25-54 (the really important demo)? As DE said, every major station in the market is beating him...

Well, maybe the contract thing is not a bit after all. Perhaps Mr. Mason is taking a close look at the bazillion dollar contract and having second thoughts about a show that is beginning to slide down the other side of the peak.

David:

Can you please do the same breakout for Jagger 6a - 10:30a and Pugs & Kelly 10:30a - 3p (also KLLI)? Thanks.

While your checking David, I don't see Omega anywhere to claim the victory of KEGL 12+. Granted he won't realize that KLNO beat them 25-54. by the way how did Omegas' buddy Omar do in the PM drive?

Maria and Omega's friend Omar and the 7-Midnight KEGL guy apparently have been transferred to Houston to "Latinize" KLOL's jock staff. I think Omega is probably over at the U-Haul renting a truck (been there, done that, got the t-shirt).

In June actuals, 25-54 KLNO beat KEGL 2 to 1 3-7, and in 7-Midnight by 5 to 1. Maybe 7-Midnight is Omega's shift?

To get a general idea, I ran custom dayparts for each show on Persons 21-49 and Men 21-49

Persons 21-49 6-10:30 26th
Men 21-49 19th

Persons 21-49 10:30-3 18th
Men 21-49 7th

Unfortunately, no... The only public information is the 12+ data, if even that.

Pugs and Kelly are 7th in their Key Demo....and sadly Jagger barely cracks the top 20...for all those that complain about how much of a waste of airtime P&K are...7th isnt so bad and maybe thats why Gavin has kept them on board. The failure is more like Jagger seem to be blowing chunks in the morning...

Keep in mind that some of that is Opie & Anthony numbers. Jagger was on 9 - noon until recently. I have a feeling that is where the P & K #7 comes from. ::)

Agree. Kudos to them for trying something really different. They really stand out on
the dial, too.

And let's add kudos to KLTY. Another Top 4 showing in the 25-54 cell. Can't think of
another Contemp Christian station in the country near as good as they are (understanding
some non-comms show up really well in certain other markets). You wonder why their
magic doesn't show up on a bunch of other Salem stations. But, they definitely got it
goin'.
