All the Mt. Wilson/Harvard FMs hanging in there?
I just checked the band and there aren't any obvious holes in the dial from my location.

I was thinking more of the STLs, though even that may be fiber in some cases. KTLA was breaking up occasionally and it wasn't because of my satellite feed for a change.
The Altadena fire moved up the foothills, mostly of Mt Harvard and not directly to Wilson. But the two peaks are hard to even tell "where one ends and the other starts".
While that is along way away, the stations have done a lot to keep dry underbrush and dead trees under control.

The reporter talking about Mt. Wilson right now on KCBS just mentioned their off-air signal is used by satellite companies, but not by the local cable companies. Might be the same with KTLA.

Until you have seen one of thse huge fires move, it is incomprehensible how rapidly and intensely they propel themselves.

I would think that if not actual flames burning down the building. The air intake for transmitters sites or generators may be impacted by the smoke and it may make sense to shut a transmitter site down so the cooling system does not sustain smoke damage. No mater if it's a closed system or takes in outside air. Smoke being drawn through a Generator or air conditioner can be bad.

I sincerely hope that nothing like this happens up here in NorCal anytime soon. The only times in recent history we had anything remotely comparable were the October 2017 Wine Country Fires, and the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, and for as severe and expensive as the damage and loss of live were during those fires, both of them combined are a tiny drop compared to what's going on in LA right now.

Reporters from KNSD San Diego are helping with the coverage on KNBC. KGO-TV reporters are also in LA helping out with coverage on KABC.

KFSN in Fresno as well, also helping out KABC, seeing some of their reporters on sister flagship WABC's (NYC) newscasts along with the ABC News correspondent.
Hopefully this horrible bunch of fires will encourage the study, learning and implementation of better forest management practices. In particular, improved forest thinning, better undergrowth policing and trimming or removal of weak old growth.
