The Ron Parker we're talking about never worked in Lufkin. Perhaps you're thinking of "Bebe" Rebozo, Mr. Nixon. ;)
 
He fired me too and I still enjoyed working with and for him at KLDE. Yes he hired me back after having to cut me out of the budget. My hat's off to him.
