CC has always had the WSHE calls -I think they now belong to a station of theirs in N Florida or GA.

From Radio Locator:

WSHE-AM 1270 kHz
Columbus, Georgia
"All the Gospel for the Chattahoochee Valley"

Great Hallucinations, MrRadioGuy!!

CC/Paxson NEVER lost those calls.

When Paxson bought WSHE, they also bought WDIZ in Orlando....

As soon as they gave WSHE here in Lauderdale new calls in '96, the WSHE calls went up to Orlando, to WDIZ (in a related move, the WDIZ calls were parked on AM 590 in Panama City, they're still there).

Anyways, "She 100" went on in Orlando for a while, until about 98, and then the station went Oldies, but kept the WSHE calls, until they, too, changed calls.

But when Orlando changed calls, they parked the WSHE letters on AM 1270 in Columbus, GA.

It is common CC practice to warehouse call letters they may need use of in the future (or don't want someone else taking) in small stations they own.

As just noted, WSHE is in Columbus, GA, and WDIZ is in Panama City...WZTA is now an AM (1370) in Vero Beach, ever since 94.9 got new calls, and WYNF is on a station in Macon Georgia.

As Barbrady in South Park would say "Nothing To See Here".

WSHE AM doesn't matter

That doesn't prevent anothe company from taking WSHE-FM, if there isn't one already.

There was never a WSHE-AM in this market. WSRF-FM became WSHE and WSRF on AM ... still is WSRF on 1580.

Re: Great Hallucinations, MrRadioGuy!!

If the calls WSHE are on an AM signal they're available on the FM side. There are tons of stations that have the same call letters. The difference is one is an AM, the other is an FM. In Boston there is a WEEI -AM and in Providence there is a WEEI-FM. So maybe not much of a hallucination.

Also, as you said CC harbors calls all over the place. Look at WINZ for example. While WRFX was on 940 AM, WINZ was being harboured in Augusta , GA. Now, look WINZ calls are backn at 940 AM here in Miami.

CAN WE ALL SEE A JACK FORMAT ON JAN.1 2006 ON 103.5???? WITH CALLS WSHE-FM?

Look at CC's track record when they syndicate a morning show on a station. That means the gig is up SOON. (Hello Zeta!!! WRFX!!!)

I wouldn't say it's out of the realm of possibility.

They have to have consent from the holder of the calls in any service beforehand.

WSHE - Jack - 103.5?

I sure hope so. (Even though Jack is a dumb concept.)

Have you heard about the lower-than-pond-scum they have on 103.5 mornings, replacing the Baka Boyz?

On their web site (the scum's own site, not WMIB's) one character says he's proud to be a hater. That's his philosophy. And there are various racist remarks, too.

Where does CC dig up such low-life trash?

The AM *has* right of refusal for calls!

Wrong!! When an AM has calls, yes, they can be also used on FM, but the AM has right of refusal...So Clear Channel can legally deny say, Infinity from calling an FM they own in NYC WSHE-FM (it's WSHE-FM, and has to be called such at TOH, just WSHE on the FM side precludes any AM from being called so)...Of course companies have been known to pay AM call letter holders sums of money to allow them to use their AM's calls on an FM elsewhere...The WEEI case you mention is due to the fact that both AM and FM are owned by the same company (Entercom)...An interesting situation occurs in West Palm Beach, where Infinity owns a WJBW-FM, and a separate entity named their station in the same market WJBW on AM afterwards...I believe this is due to the fact that the FM was WJBW-FM (with the open suffix which denies you right of refusal), also the general stubbornness of Infinity to change call letters but I digress.

> CAN WE ALL SEE A JACK FORMAT ON JAN.1 2006 ON 103.5???? WITH

Wow....Why would you call "Jack" WSHE?? Channel has not yet, to date, signed on a "Jack"...And in the markets they have been trying out variants of said format, they are calling them "My", followed by the frequency.
