If the calls WSHE are on an AM signal they're available on the FM side. There are tons of stations that have the same call letters. The difference is one is an AM, the other is an FM. In Boston there is a WEEI -AM and in Providence there is a WEEI-FM. So maybe not much of a hallucination.
Also, as you said CC harbors calls all over the place. Look at WINZ for example. While WRFX was on 940 AM, WINZ was being harboured in Augusta , GA. Now, look WINZ calls are backn at 940 AM here in Miami.
CAN WE ALL SEE A JACK FORMAT ON JAN.1 2006 ON 103.5???? WITH CALLS WSHE-FM?
Look at CC's track record when they syndicate a morning show on a station. That means the gig is up SOON. (Hello Zeta!!! WRFX!!!)
I wouldn't say it's out of the realm of possibility.
