FM Frequency of the week: 105.3

Here in Baldwin County, Alabama on the coast, we have two almost-semi locals on 105.1 and 105.5, but this frequency is often an easy catch of WWL-FM from New Orleans. It's about 150 miles out. 96,000 watts over flat terrain and the Gulf helps.

In Merrillville Indiana & south, it's possible to pick up WKOA Lafayette Indiana. In Gary, IN, WOJO Evanston/Chicago on 105.1 splatters over 105.3, & 105.5 WLJE Valparaiso Indiana also splatters over 105.3, though not as bad, since WLJE has Grade B coverage over Lake County, IN.

Mostly spatter from 105.1 KKBZ, but can hear KBFP from Delano/Bakersfield CA.

Here in the W Chi burbs once in a blue moon I can get WKOA. That's pretty much it.

KCMS Edmonds, WA used to come in Bellingham, WA with a noisy signal (when they were 115,000 grandfathered watts off the Crista campus tower) KCMS now with 50,000 watts off Cougar Mountain doesn't come in at all in most areas of Bellingham. Some local pirates occasionally use 105.3......

Northern VA,
I hardly get anything. If I do, with a DSP radio or XDR-F1HD, it's the Norfolk area station WVMA (formerly urban adult, now oldies), Philly's WDAS (urban adult) or WFRB Frostburg, MD (just past the Appalachian Mts) with a country format. All very weak. No IBOC from local WAVA 105.1 in DC :). On an ordinary radio, it would be only WAVA splatter.

Almost always KMOQ Joplin, MO.. Tropo days It's either KJMM/Tulsa or KFBZ/Wichita. Driving around on a stock radio in my mom's 2010 Malibu I've received KRLD out of Dallas.
