FM Frequency of The Week: 95.1

In Lake County Indiana, depending on DX conditions, I typically get WFAV Kankakee (used to be WVLI, until the call letters & format got moved to 92.7, & WFAV calls & format got moved from 103.7 Gilman, IL to 95.1), & is a CHR/Pop station. Under rare conditions, I get WIIL Union Grove, WI (I have to remember that this station changed their COL from Kenosha, in order keep this station out of the Chicago Arbitron market, & being forced to divest it).

From Gaffney, SC - WNKS Kiss 95.1 from Charlotte NC...loud & clear.

There have been rare occaisions during tropo I've been able to null out WNKS
and got to hear WSSX from Charleston SC a few times and only for a few minutes at a time.

I'm right on WNKS' 70dbu and it's one of the strongest signals on the dial here.

Here in Warminster PA(Philadelphia area), it's usually semi-local WZZO from Bethelhem PA. I have also gotten 95.1 from
Atlantic City, Baltimore and Bridgeport CT in tropo situations.

This station is not local ( DX )

95.1 KHOP serving the Modesto, Stockton and Merced market with 29,500 watts. Transmitter is surprisingly only 82 miles from me. If i was just a bit higher up ( I'm in a valley floor ), station would be very listenable, even though its sandwiched between KYLD 94.9 and 95.3 KRTY. Small pockets of strong signal in the yard ( borderline stereo with moderate drift ).

The valley of the Jolly Green Giant (LeSueur, MN)
either KUSQ Worthington or the KYMN Northfield 1080 FM translator...neither come in good but they fade in and out

Far northwest suburbs of Chicago.....

95.1 is WIIL from Kenosha, WI with a good signal. In most locations around here, it's even slightly better than most of the Chicago sticks.
