FM Frequency of the Week - 97.7 MHz

What can you all get on 97.7 FM?

Here in Vermilion, OH it is semi-local WGGN/Castalia, OH with a CCM format. On trips to Canton, OH I have heard WILE/Byesville, OH with a nostalgic format.

97.7 in Yakima, WA is usually nothing, but down in Wapato WA (about 10 mi) KOMO Oakville, WA booms in at 130 miles. Must be Mt. Adams knife-edge DX. Even on the Yakima hills (like Cowiche Canyon) KOMO is MIA.

In Western WA it was KOMO, or CBUF Vancouver BC closer to Everett. I think it's by around Arlington or further north that CBUF is dominate. KOMO is a blaster. I can hear them in Portland, OR 24/7 and down at the Global Tuners node in Eugene, they are common probably 90% of the time at over 200 miles. That transmitter near Olympia must really help the reception. I can also get KOMO really well on the ocean beaches.

My only E-skip log here was KLVO Albuquerque, NM in 2011. Should be more now that 97.7 is open a lot more. I have a little bit of interference from 100w KYYR-LP Yakima (the Bridge, with Christian Rap) but it should be OK for 97.7 E-skip.

Here in Gaffney, SC - Very difficult but possible to hear W249CB (97.7 Chuck FM from Greenville), otherwise it's hash from 97.9 WPEG from Charlotte. Also during tropo it's possible and occasional to hear WWXM from Myrtle Beach, albeit now fighting with the Greenville 97.7 translator since it signed on.

In NW Indiana, I mainly have to be at least in Crown Point Indiana & south of Crown Point to pick up WLQI Rensselaer, IN. Otherwise, I get 1st adjacent splatter from 97.9 WLUP Chicago.

Cincinnati OH West
Reception location: Second story of house which is not situated well for FM DX.
Receiver: Grundig G8

WOXY Mason OH "La Mega" - Greater Cincinnati has only one Spanish language, and this is it.
